The standard 59.99 112 has zero CNC machining.Okay, but here's the $361.99 question... Is there any tangible benefit to a handcrafted model that makes it worth the extra $302 over the standard $59.99 CNC machined 420HC Buck 112 Ranger knife?
I apologize for giving bad/misleading information. The standard 59.99 112 has zero CNC machining.
no worries.I apologize for giving bad/misleading information.
It looks like the LE version with the medallion and the 50th year blade stamp will be on the site next week.I think so. Let me make sure. We have built some of those and since it is a new year it should be.
Looks like the Slim Pro has an adjustable pivot now. If that’s the case I will finally give one a try.
Would it be possible, if I ask real nice, to get a pivot screw to replace the rivet on my 112?Yeah, and let me tell you, it needs one.
I just got a 110 Slim Pro for Christmas this year, and the pivot is ludicrously tight on it. I've been working with it daily ever since trying to break it in, but to date it just gets gritty in short order because no matter how much I work the action, the pivot doesn't get any looser.
Frankly, I blame all the folks who whined about blade play at launch. I swear, if I didn't know better then I would think that Buck purposely tightened the pivot down as tight as it would possibly go just to spite those people, because I'll tell you one thing, there isn't a trace of blade play on mine.
Yep, I remember thinking that when all the whining about blade slop on the new slims was boiling over. I thought yeah, now Buck will snug them up a bit and then we will hear complaints about tight pivots. It seems there’s some guys that can’t stand even the tiniest amount of free play. Probably the same ones that think the blade centering has to be perfectly centered.Yeah, and let me tell you, it needs one.

Try a Sprint. I have three. All open easy and smooth and have zero discernable blade play.I don't know honestly, you'd have to ask Buck to be certain.
I would happily accept a bit of blade play in exchange for a blade which opens more smoothly, deploys more easily, requires less frequent cleaning/lubrication, and doesn't make an audible abrasive sound when the blade is opened/closed while dry.
I guarantee you that nobody who complained about blade play ever had any intention of ever using the 110 Slim Pro for everyday carry, much less for actual defensive use.

Thank you for looking into this.It looks like the LE version with the medallion and the 50th year blade stamp will be on the site next week.
The standard version that just has the 50th bade stamp will be up when we run out of some of the non 50th stock. Not sure when that will happen. I'll see if that can be requested on your order even though we still are running out last years ones.
