2022 Lick Creek Barlow #14 thread

Received Charlie's waynorth waynorth #14 Barlow SFO 2 days ago but I finally took some photos today . I am very pleased with it . Fairly well matched covers . Cocobolo is finished well . The Steel Pins shine like Silver Dollars . Everything is just right except for the blade being slightly off center . It is a fine LITTLE KNIFE that I most likely will not ever use , but will most likely carry some . Will keep it in a drawer to maintain the color as long as I can .

AND STEEL LINERS

Today I received a 14 Barlow in sawcut bone..... It is a nicely built and fitted example.... The milling done on the handles is well done and has a good texture to keep the little bugger from squirting out of your hands....

The pull on my example is where I'd want it for a knife this size..... I think it would be hard to hang onto the small body while opening it with heavier pull.... The action is crisp with no balky movements.....

It is a great knife for small chores and easy carry......

theres been some debate about the pull. i happened to enjoy the pull of the 14s from the 2018 run and have been hoping it would be similar.

Nice one, Harry!! :)
As some may know, Cocobola darkens with age!! Some of the black antiques that we collect, are not Ebony but Cocobola!! Some can read the grain in the wood, but I can't!! I'll have to study it some more!!
Hello Charlie,
I know you are a fan of ebony but I prefer the Cocobola. It is a very warm wood and you can clearly see all its fibers. And you can have 20 knives made of it, all will be different. 😍

I got my Cocobolo “Tom’s Back” in a couple days ago, and my Wormy Chestnut Lick Creek showed up in the mail today.

Pulls are on the lighter side but the snap is pretty good. Personally I like the satin finished bolsters on the Lick Creek, and I love that it still has the darkened stamp, which the cocobolo does not.

No worm holes on the mark side of my Wormy Chestnut, but I got a few on the back and on the sides of the scales along the spine.

I would have liked to have gotten one of the chestnut 14s to go alongside my chestnut 15, but I don't even know which dealers got the Lick Creek models. Maybe I'll get lucky in a trade. These 14s do look knife--even though they are diminutive.

That looks tasty Jack. Good morning all. I hope you have a great day. I’m up early watching Premiere League and drinking strong coffee. Go Spurs!

A 2018 #14 sandwiched between a couple 2022's......

Just got my Lick Creek Barlow
I'm super happy that it has some good character
Yes, the pulls are light, but the 'snap' is good... so I can live with it.

tube got crushed in transit, but the knife made it ok

These all look fantastic! 💥🔥🔥🔥

This was waiting for me when I got home this evening. I love it! (Light pull and all). After a good flushing, it’s nice and smooth, snaps to the stops. The wormy chestnut has the “it factor” for my tastes. I have a Charlie Coco on the way as well but I’m gonna skip the goldenrod bone.
