The two knive across the top are vintage Cattaraugus single blade speys that were shown to Bill a few months ago. After examination he simply said to show them to Randy. Fast forward and we have a run of 39s with speys. The knives to either side are club knives produced off this run.
(Not my pic)

It was not designed off the 15 spey, it was designed off a Cattaraugus spey (see attached post). I would expect differences.Does any one have a 15 spey and the 39 spey to compare next to each other, i think they did something to the blade profile, thanks

The 39 is slimmer, with a different tip.

The 39's look really sharp that's for sure, and from everyone that has one they have said the action is stout, and such a wide array of covers,I have the older 39 and the action is close to perfect, perfect is 86hj and the older 78's which brings me to ask if the new 78 has same stout pull.Whatever the name Jim, these are about as good as you can get.Jiki GEC has recently been on quite a roll, some of their best knives ever. Just when I decided to slow down on collecting…!

There is also a bit of a drop to the spine of a 39 spey blade at about the halfway spot along the length of the blade. I’m not sure if this is the case on the 15 spey blades, but they sure look to have a straight spine from pictures.Does any one have a 15 spey and the 39 spey to compare next to each other, i think they did something to the blade profile, thanks

You are right in both cases!!There is also a bit of a drop to the spine of a 39 spey blade at about the halfway spot along the length of the blade. I’m not sure if this is the case on the 15 spey blades, but they sure look to have a straight spine from pictures.

It's bone. The "worm grove" is a term used for the type of jigging. Also found on wood covers.Excuse my very stupid question.
I bought one of these and thought it was wood (as you get worms in wood).
Indian PaintBrush Worm Groove
Is it wood or something else?
