2024 GEC 78 Bullet End Barlow

One of the knives has a bullet shield, don't know if remington, officially.
Oooh, so they actually added it to the schedule, just haven't mentioned that's a Remington! And hose cartridges on the End of the Hall pic mean Remington! Oooh!

I'd be surprised if it was a legit rem, probably more akin to what they did with the 72's last year with the green jigged bone+bullet shield

Anyone have a 2014 78 the can pose next to the current run? Open and closed? TYIA

Def looks like Cocobolo also note the fluted bolsters as the coco is a NF and whiskey barrel is a Tidi

Edit: whoops thought I was replying to a new post. I see this had been covered.
Yes yes, I won't be a good detective. 😂

Very likely actually, too! What we know for sure is that it will be an outstanding piece either way.

Don’t get me wrong I love GEC, but I feel if any other maker than them called this knife a Barlow they’d be getting called out not debated on it.
Its not a barlow. This pattern has been called a jumbo jack for more than 100 years.
This is a Camillus Jumbo Jack thats nearly 100 years old, 3 7/8" closed, same large single bolster.......

First I thought "why sawcut, it hides wood grain a bit". But now I think that's to create flat surface on the handle to place that big flat shield flush.
