Are pocket carvers still a thing? Just back from the spa.

Is the grind thickness behind the edge on the main blade as thick as the previous run of PC’s? I have a smooth green banana 62 and am wondering whether or not to have Tom regrind it.

You know what I love about the pocket carvers? They have that "engineered for a very specific purpose" look to them, and there really isn't another traditional whittler out there like them. The old Queen Oar Carver was, but those are long out of production and very hard to find now. The GEC is a better knife anyway, one of my favorite GEC patterns.

I need to get a rotten banana one... I used to have a cocobolo one, but I think I sold it. I have the white and the green banana... the white is the one I've used quite a bit...
I think Jiki Jiki and I started whittling around the same time, but he's really gone on to "master class" and I'm still hovering in "upper beginner" class. I don't spend much time at all doing it... I need to get back into it... it's a great stress reliever.... except for your thumbs...
