2025 Gardening Thread

We had something that looked like that. It came up below our Bird feeder, it never did more than your pic shows.

It’s 4’ away from where the birds eat and I figured it was a seed from the wild bird seed mix but was wondering what it is.

An app I use called PictureThis confirms its Sorghum. Show the app a picture of the plant and it identifies it. It’s pretty darn accurate. Not 100% but really darn good.

Gone thru 100lb + this year of seed and one of them grew. I’ll grab some seeds and do a small corner of my back yard with that stuff, the birds will love it.

Strong storms came through yesterday . View attachment 2934402
Storm system hit us here but not as wild as you apparently had in your area. Hydro outages two days for some.

The sky just suddenly went black then the wind and rain hit .... Over quickly.

Hey LEGION can that possibly be the Japanese maply you planted??

From the weedpatch pooped by moose where dock, sheep sorel and wild berry canes now run riot - I rescued every perennial I could dig and pot up in early Spring. They thrived in their weed free pots, taking water from the shallow well overflow. No watering required 😁

I offered them to friends where I am house sitting while they are travelling. The plants are just so bloomin' happy here, taking rain water from troughs in the rock and can wait to be planted in the ground this fall.

L to R: Jacob Cline bee balm - red, mini rose bush - red, Liatris - tall purple, Lilies - soon to bloom surprise, Moonbeam Threadleaf Coreopsis - yellow, Dwarf bee balm -dark pink
Lots more in second trough and elsewhere here ...

I live in sunny Central Florida and having problems with flower drop on this 1 and only Beef Steak I have growing in the wrong season. I have 7 Tomatoes at this time, using a Electric Toothbrush seems to have helped Pollination.

It's been high 90,s here for awhile. So I put up 60 percent shade cloth earlier this week.
Today I put a Thermometer out. Under the cloth that's covering the Beef Steak,92 degrees.

In Full Sun it's ....112 degrees.

(The temp was measured at 3 pm today)
