2025 Remington Bullet knife made by Buck?

It says, amongst others, "Proudly made of American materials and hand assembled by American craftsmen" so maybe some parts are imported. Also says US made, whatever that means percentage wise

I just did a Google search. You can rest assure everything on the internet is the truth.😂
OK. That was an AI response and it doesn't give a source.

With slightly different search terms I got a different answer from AI that said it was made by Remington Cutlery.

"Made" is a vague term.

Also no source. Seems like AI might be using info from the past when GEC did make other Bullet knives. AI almost always furnishes a link to a quote of what they said--but it didn't do it this time.

Looked at a bunch of other responses and none gave a maker.

So the mystery continues.

:)

I'm still thinkin bear and sons....

if it was gec the price would be much higher. we know it isn't a Buck. case....doesn't appear to be one due to the sharp point on the knife and case can't put a sharp point to save their life🤣.....who's left other than some smaller outfits making different parts and it being assembled somewhere....but that's much harder than it sounds.......

Cooper would be the only one and to my knowledge they've never made a lockback like a 110.

Remington had not physically made a knife themselves since before WWII. In modern times Camillus was the licensee for many years, then Bear & Sons. Buck was the licensee for a few short years (2017-2020) until the breakup and sale of Remington Arms at auction. Roundhill Group purchased Remington’s firearm production facility and associated intellectual property for $13 million and rebranded the operation as RemArms. RemArms announced in January 2022 press release the "rebirth" of the cutlery line.

September 2021 Remington press release announcing a partnership with SMKW to reintroduce a Bullet knife. "The most important fact about the Bullet Knife is that it has always been USA made,” said SMKW Founder Kevin Pipes. “We partner with the finest knife craftsman in the country to produce our knives, including Great Eastern Cutlery who is making this year’s Bullet Knife....."

addendum: The more I look at this the more confusion there is. I was originally convinced GEC made them all. The 2022 Barlow and 2023 Hawkbill Bullet Knives were GEC for sure. The 2024 Waterfowler Bullet Knife has speculation all over the place. I found a SMKW YouTube video which in the comments said they did not know who made it. That seemed disingenuous IMO coming from SMKW. The 2025 110 look alike certainly does not look like something GEC has done in the past, blade material included.

ai is so smart it can't even give the same answer to the same question....

I read the links it used and it says.....blah blah blah etc etc "said Kaylene Christian, Remington’s licensee product manager."

key here being licensee product manager which means they did not make it, someone else did.....

Yeah. I don't think Remington made a knife for many decades. But I do want to get one, since I have a small collection of bullet knives. I don't want to pay $159. They sell them for less at various gun and ammo shops but I'm not sure which ones are reputable.

Yeah, except nobody has been able to provide a source for verification of an unsourced AI Google response.

Or.........is AI really taking over as rumored?

:D
what we know is Buck didn't make it. we also know remington didn't make it themselves. we learned that from my quick research. it's a licensee product not an internal made product.

the rest we don't know....gec, case, bear and sons.....

my money is still on bear and sons. I think John called it right early.....we'll find out as more info slips out.......

None of the usual suspects seem to fit well into the puzzle.

I can't find that GEC has ever made a large lockback with two bolsters.

So this would be a totally new model for them.

I wonder if that's a major problem?

Or is it an easy adjustment to make?

don't really know...but I don't see gec making it for remington to sell at that price point. price for it reeks of bear and son...with remington getting their big piece of the pie......

Last years water fowl knife was speculated to be B&S so yeah wouldn't see why this one isn't either.

I'd be really shocked if it was some obscure out of left field shop.

The Utica Original II looks very close to the Remington in shape and construction. Utica states that it is made in the USA. Here's a comparison:

And a 110 that has been stored away for a few years, surprised me with a nice copper colored patina on the brass.

Looks like we have a winner! Good catch. Even the curve on the lock release matches the Remington 2025.
