2025 Remington Bullet knife made by Buck?

The Utica Original II looks very close to the Remington in shape and construction. Utica states that it is made in the USA. Here's a comparison:

And a 110 that has been stored away for a few years, surprised me with a nice copper colored patina on the brass.

Wow, that was a good catch. I would have never thought of looking at Utica. I like how on their website they call the handle material, "wood."

Good work.

You realize that AI is gonna be pissed at you for correcting their answers.

Some folks are saying that AI can be dangerous.

that's interesting......who's left?
Someone else on FB said they talked to an online retailer and they said it was Utica. But what Meadowlark said is contrary to that and closer to the source. So who knows? It sure looks like Utica. The retail price is $159, which I didn't want to pay. So I ordered one for $104 from a gun and ammo shop I never used before. It appears to be legit but I won't know until I get it.

I should get a return phone call on Monday.

Maybe that will yield some info.

I get the feeling the identity of the maker is a huge secret for some reason and I don't see why.

Will we get back to suspecting Buck?

:D

I wonder if there are two people involved. Someone bought the frames from Utica and put on the scale and blade. But that doesn't sound cost effective. It is just like store brand food. Who really makes "Our Family" ketchup?

whoevers making it I'd bet is under a strict nda. if they weren't it wouldn't be so hidden. much like Buck didnt have to hide it when they made the remingtons bullet knives for awhile. so we may never find out........

Boy is this thread a darn rollercoaster.

If it were cooper or GEC, they would let it slip to build the ridiculous hype.

I like B&S. But not $160 lockback like B&S. I'm obviously not alone in this thought which is why I believe this group of knife nerds can't figure out who actually made the knife. B&S is the only one who makes sense.

Utica would have been super cool. I wish they would crank out a couple traditionals here.

There's a difference between "made" and "assembled".
SMKW owns other knife brands now that are made in China. So I wonder if that's what's going on....

Utica's catalog shows this:

Are all of their parts made overseas but assembled in the USA?

Buck sources some foreign made parts, and one could argue that even exotic wood, including Ebony, could be considered globally sourced. When injection modeled handles from China are paired up with USA made blades, are they truly Made in USA knives?
