2026 OKCA Show

What a haul Barrett!! 😮
Are you on the way home now?

Thanks, Duncan! We flew back yesterday.

You were definitely missed, my friend. At one point Neal and I found ourselves talking about the paint on a car that drove by and we thought, man, where’s Duncan when you need him? 😉😁

What a weekend!!! So much to cover so excuse my sorry excuse for proper grammar.

Like Barrett, I did not take nearly enough pictures but I will include what I have. Like I mentioned last year, the people is what makes this show great. It was wonderful to meet up and hang out with some of Bladeforums finest. I learned so much about knives, collecting, interests, families, and a whole lot of other things.

The absolute highlight was knowtracks knowtracks being chosen for best display. This year Dave had a mind blowing Schatt and Morgan display. Some of the things that he has tracked down to include in his amazing display is really remarkable. Great Job, Dave. We were all sitting on pins and needles waiting for the outcome.

The show was wonderful and the tables were filled with treasures.

Another major highlight as it was last year was the hangout at the Airbnb (Church of Knives). Barrett once again was able to book the church and it was the perfect place to hangout and relax. I particularly like that there seems to always be a knife being passed around. It’s basically the best version of show and tell in the world. Laughs were had and beers were drank 😁.

Now to the great knives I was lucky enough to pick up from the show.

waynorth waynorth was at his usual table and he had some really nice knives. I picked up these gems from the man himself. My favorite being a knife from his personal collection, a GEC stag 74 Ranch Hand. This knife is absolutely awesome and the others were not too shabby 😉. My favorite item from the show was a Levine 4th edition book that Charlie graciously gifted to me. Thanks again my friend.

My next stop was danno50 danno50 table. Dan gifted me this really nice Southern & Richardson castration knife. What a sweet little knife. Thank you, Dan. You are too kind. I also managed to get a 86 and a 35 BF knife from him. Two of the best Bladeforums knives in my opinion.

Good stuff, Paul. I’d say you did a much better job of taking pics than I did! 😁

Dave’s display was fantastic! I nearly had to take this pic from the next row over. 🤣 (I did legitimately have to take it standing behind his and Dan’s table, almost backed up against Chris’ table, just to get the whole thing in one picture.)

The last table that wrecked my wallet was at @cjm415 table. Chris had some wonderful knives but it was him and Larry that made it easy to hang around. Had some great laughs and picked up some wonderful knives. I’m not usually a two blade trapper guy but I couldn’t pass up this shielded stag 48. The 85s have been on my list forever and I’m happy to scratch that itch.

I want to thank everyone for everything. This show is certainly a highlight of the year and hopefully for many years to come. I do hope that more Bladeforums members make the trek out West for the show next year.
How absolutely awesome seeing everyone!

What great knives you managed to pick up as well Paul- Oh man!!

Gracious gifts from gracious Gentlemen - this is good for the Soul seeing this.

The highlight was hearing that Dave won best display! WELL DONE DAVE!!!
I really want to see that collection in person, Dave's Charlie Campagna SFO display and the years and years of sweat 'n tears going into that was mind blowing to see in person, and to see the comradeship that went along with it.

Everyone is looking great!

Don’t enter into a lambfoot finding competition with danno50 danno50 . He is like a bloodhound 😂😂. I’ve seen snipers that were less accurate than Dan’s lambfoot nose. I’m convinced that they just jump into his pocket. He gave me a good ribbing everytime he found one. Thanks for the laughs, Dan.
Paul & btb01 btb01 : Thank you for the pics guys . They were all great & you guys got some great knives . It was good to see that Charlie waynorth waynorth and Yosemite Sam knowtracks knowtracks are still kicking around .

I am very sad to be missing the show this year, I'm sick and just couldn't swing it. Which feels ridiculous when it is in my home town. My daughter Abby was also looking forward to going and showing waynorth waynorth her knives. We always look forward to the show, but sometimes you just have to take care of yourself.

I hope to hear from folks who did make it. See anything cool? Say hi to anyone you haven't seen in a while?
We did see some old friends, and missed many others!!
Ray Rowe was here from Texas after missing all the shows since COVID!!
The "churchgoers" were back; Neal, Barrett, Paul etc rented that decommissioned chapel again, and we had Tacos and a knife pass-around there!!
I found myself looking for you and Abby - you were both missed!!!:(
Rhidian won three awards!! BEST Art Knife, Best Slipjoint, and Best of Show!!! Hopefully someone will post pics!!

The Eugene knife show was fantastic as always, but it was made even better by the great friends who were there!!!
Barrett hooked us up again with our church air B&B/clubhouse for the gang to hang out in.
I have to give Paul credit for pulling a night shift and then heading right to the airport to start the journey.
Although he did sleep through his alarm the next morning which the rest of us had to listen to and laugh at.
Barrett finally went and rousted him out of bed.
We were all happy for Rhidian and Dave who won first place awards for their entries. Well done guys!!!
The only bad part is that it all goes by too quickly. :)

Here is a fine old Henckels that I found at the show.

I’d also like to highlight Rhidian Rhidian for not only being a great guy but for his craftsmanship and dedication as a knife maker. His knives are truly special and it’s really cool to sit down and talk to him about what goes into a knife. He is so generous with his time and is always 100% engaged when talking to someone. He is one of the best knife makers in the world but more than that he is a good human being. Of course he cleaned up just about every folding knife award there was to include best in show.

The first knife I bought at the Oregon show! A Higonokami usually has a folded metal handle, and a thumb tab to secure the blade when in use!! I have always been leery of those knives, feeling they are insecure, but then I saw this version!!!!!Japanese Higonokami 1.jpg
It has a liner lock, which feels very solid and secure!!! Not to mention the attractive and functional san mai steel blade, and snakewood handles!!!!
Gorgeous, and not real expensive!! An improved Japanese Traditional!!

I traded for this one; M'Lady's Folding Dirk!!! Barnes Dirk 1.jpgBarnes Dirk 2.jpgBarnes Dirk 3.jpg

From 1830 to 1850, it likely has been polished, but nicely, and locks up tightly, with no wobble!!! An exquisite little knife at 3 3/4"!!!! The pearl is very good, and flawless!! (x?). Barnes damascus steel cutlery!!! No england nor sheffield markings!!!

I picked this one up from my box on the way to the Show, so it made an appearance there, all the way from South Africa!!!!!
I finally managed to get Willem to make me a Lamb!!! A two-blade, with some filework, and Blesbok Horn handles, nicely done!!!Willems Lamb 1.jpgWillems Lamb 2.jpg
