Here's a design that I would like to see.

It's a BK-9 with the following modifications:
-De-ramped
-Finger gaurd removed
-Choiled
-Drop point
-Full flat grind
-Blade Thickness 0.188 in. (4.78 mm)
-No coating

I think this design turns an already efective camp knife and chopper into a more "all around" blade.
Plus I think it looks pretty badass. I'd buy one.

And here's my favorite Becker today:

Thanks for doing this awesome Giveaway! Somebody's gonna score a fine blade!

Nice work Dubz!
That's what I'd like.
A FFG Niner with a drop point and choil. Nice!
If that finger guard was off then the choil could go up higher and make for more comforable detail work.

Getting some interesting things in here. Sam Hell, what are the specs on that blade? How long, what kind of grind, etc? I had an idea too, which I might put into action, although not really as part of this contest: Beckizashi... :D

I'm getting the idea that a lot of people would like to see a new and interesting large chopper, and there have been a couple who mentioned a large drop point chopper.

mrn8, pretty sure you're gonna get a wharnie. Figure out what exactly you want in terms of size and we can talk about design. At this point, I think I'm probably going to have the other winner be a large chopper, based on what people seem to be interested in so far.

Holy crap, are you serious? :D I'll give the size some thought.

Yep, I'm going to bed happy tonight!

Hey man, The blade length is 6 inches with the same thumb grooves as the tweeners, overall handle length is 5 inches not including the pommel at the bottom which I based on the tweeners. And if available on whatever grips i would love to see a bow drill divot placed right under the second screw on the handle...(and the spike in the handle is optional and just seemed like a wild idea and it's not neceserry).Blade shape is Drop Point, with a flat grind and a blade thickness of .188 for weight and equal balance to not be an issue so it can be still carried ranger style on our packs...I hope this is good enough for ya brother...thanks for the consideration! Much appreciated!!

To be completely honest, I would love to see Sam Hell's blade made as well. Thats more or less what I had in mind (6in blade, a tad thicker than my 5/32, tweenerish handle, FFG... Looks like a winner to me). Personally I don't know how I feel about the spike in the handle, but other than that it looks great. Looks like an excellent all around knife.

I'm excited to see this one out :).

Still trying to decide which large chopper I want to make. I'm almost done with the Wharnecliffe for mrn8 though.

Alrighty, since there haven't been any more entries in a while, I'm going to call this one, and make gunknifenut his top chopper. Should be a neat one. gunknifenut, send me an email and we'll get started planning this one out.

BAD ASS!
Thanks a ton Crimsonfalcon07. Email replied to!
Test pics when this one comes in for sure!!

This is just a quick draw up I did just now!

Something I admire about the BK2 is it's ability to chop so well being so short, and the same thought for a hatchet. I also love the compactness and the power it has in such a small package. So I thought that if the BK2 were a little longer and not necessarily as thick, with a bit of a hatchet property, it would chop fantastically! That is a little bit of a recurve there at the end of the belly, which I've noticed in some of my fixed blade makes surface cutting a lot easier. I also felt that with a large belly, the knife would be more applicable to other knife tasks, so I have it there with a giant belly! Something else, is I come to find the BK2 a little bit too short to baton through wide wood, so the raised part of the spine is so that you can push the knife deeper into wood wider than it, as well as give it the weighted end (basically the hatchet characteristic I spoke about earlier)

I just realized that I forgot to put the pommel on it- you can pretend it's there.

Cool sketch. Honestly, if I was going to do something with that much curve and something on the back, I'd want to do a Becker Persian. I'm kinda on a Persian kick right now... :D We'll keep that one in mind though. Who knows, I may end up making a bunch of these.

Persians are too delicate to be a Becker to me. I've always felt that a becker is a robust tool, which is what I designed :P

Thanks for taking a look anyways!

Congrats Gunknifenut!
I can't wait to see that beast made!
Very cool of you Crimson!
