2500 post GAW - design your own full tang fixed blade (must have becker content)

Persians are too delicate to be a Becker to me. I've always felt that a becker is a robust tool, which is what I designed :P

Thanks for taking a look anyways!

I'll send you pics of my large Persian when I get it done. I think you'll agree it's robust :)

Congrats Gunknifenut!
I can't wait to see that beast made!
Very cool of you Crimson!

THanks!
This is a cool contest to win! I am pretty stoked about seeing this one come to life.

Well, at long last, after many false starts, and more than a few mistakes, making me have to scrap the knife and start over, I'm nearly to completion on this one.

Bocote handles, 1095 steel. Balance point is about an inch up from the top of the handle scales, giving it a slight forward balance. I actually like this design a lot.

Here it is in hand:

Next step, make some kydex. I'm also going to make a new matching set of handle scales for an EDC that he picked up from me on the exchange also, and kydex for both. Then both blades will be on their way to you! Sorry for such a long delay.

Looks awesome brother. Looks like a nice size handle too. ;)

WELL, I am looking forward to this, big time. That looks pretty awesome.
I don't know what to say about the EDC that I bought from you, I can take it as is brother, you have done a ton of work here, and I don't want you to over do it!
Your a cool dude in my book man, I can say that for sure!
I still feel lucky to have won this contest...
Thanks
Gene

It's more for me than it is for you. Wouldn't feel right to not have one. You will still get the other set of scales, but I figure you should have a matched set. I'm kinda picky that way...

Spine is 1/4" thick, but the tang is tapered to shift the weight forward for chopping, and to reduce the overall weight. It's actually pretty quick in hand, despite being a big heavy chunk of steel.

Damn didn't pay attention to the post dates & thought it was a cool one to enter...congrats to the winner & can't wait to see pics of the finished knife......

I think this contest should be done again....maybe at 5000 :D

I gotta say, that looks awesome...OK, NOW I want em right away.
Thanks again, you are in fact, the man.

In case you were wondering, Al Welke and Julio and Eli are very talented. I've found kydex is much harder than they make it look. Anyways, I'm about done with this. Next contest will likely be for a Becker-handled bushsword, if Ethan will allow me to use his handle design on a freebie.

That little drop point EDC is cute, wouldn't mind having one myself if I could ever bring myself to buy a custom blade. Your kydex skills areen't half bad man ;).

Glad you all like. What do you think about something with this blade:

But a Becker handle?

Might throw up a 22" OAL version for my 5000 post contest, assuming the Boss is okay with me using his handle design for a one-of...
