KBA, if you have any interest in physics but lack the math definitely pick up that book. In my opinion, nobody else has come close to Greene in explaining physics without any need for math beyond a high school level. I don't buy into the string theory that the book is advocating, but that really only takes up 15% or so of the book. The other 85% is mostly relativity and quantum mechanics, as these two mutually exclusive theories are what string theory attempts to unite. After reading The Elegant Universe I have been able to explain these two theories to just about anybody by stealing Greene's explanations and examples.
