2OT's or 8OT's

...and it has the 17 match strikes of the first issued 8OT's..they had 16 after that!..and then just a long nail nick......
The bone handle 8OT's appear to be different again to the bone handle 2OT's from the same period...looking at your magnificent specimen here...I dont have one to compare to in the hand....wanna swap for one of my 20T's??..Russell that original Old Timer paperwork is not as hard to find as the actual knife..I have several original paperworks.. .Hoo Roo

Larry, if I did not have a 2OT I maybe tempted....LOL Very pleased with the find!! just got to look out for some paperwork to complet the trio.

Dang! That one has me a bit stumped, I didn't think Bean did business with Schrade that early on. I was under the impression that they started their relationship sometime in the eighties, late seventies at the earliest. Also wasn't aware that companies used the formal "Inc" in their etches back then. Definitely not 100% convinced. The knife iteself is in nice shape though.

I'm not at all convinced 54Rodgers is on the up and up either. Just sayin... Anyone with that much shine raises my eyebrow a notch or two. That 2OT does not have milled liners either, for what it's worth.

If I'm not mistaken, that Beaner is now going around for the second time in a year, and 54 Rodgers had it that time also. That fellow blacklisted me sometime back, and although I've pored over my records I cannot figure out what I may have done to make him mad. He will not answer my correspondence. His shop is definitely "sunglasses" territory.

I tend to think the etch is genuine if only because why would anyone put any etch like that on a blade that will only detract from its desirability and value and could never enhance either....only 13000 odd made 59 to early 60's and how many remain in excellent condition after 50 years?...when not many at that time would have considered they were the forerunners to a 'dynasty' of Old Timers...and worth collecting instead of using...laws of supply and demand ...I expected it to achieve $400 + and have seen others achieve more than that amount realized. I am not talking through my pocket either...I hope....as I'm not in the market to sell my Mintys.......yet...........Hoo Roo.

54Rogers had also blacklisted me when I guess I asked him to many detailed questions on that lovely "Craftsman" 2OT he had up for sale about 6 or 8 months ago. I didn't realize it untill I tried to bid on the one that just ended Sun.

.....as the only Forum member not blacklisted I guess I stand a chance on the next 2OT he puts up....LOL..seriously I have been following 2OT's Ebay sales for so long I can remember when a lot of these now being put up for sale again, were originally bought, when they were bidding against me... and in those days Ebay showed full details of bidders handles...I believe I can remember him paying good money when buying some of these, so he would expect to achieve reasonable money when sold...and in some cases not a lot of profit is being made even if it appears so........it really underpins the 2OT as a genuine Schrade collector item for all the above reasons.......Hoo Roo

Here is another of a few senior advisors to the royal 2OT we have seen lately. This one is cracked ice. Not in new condition, but still pretty chipper.

Very cool knife Cal.

I saw an old Ulster pattern like these a couple weeks ago. Slimmer, 4 1/2" closed, spear blade pen, jigged bone. I could not quite hang with the price. I love these jacks.

Tongueriver,

That is really nice - Do those have a half-stop? I like the 2ot but have only one and it does not have a half-stop.

Thank you for posting. Have a great day.

This knife has half stops on both blades. I would have thought the 2OTs would also have half stops. Send that along and I will double check it for you.
