3 tools

The reason I said no glue was that glue is a way to avoid using tools to mount the handle (drills, hammers,etc.). This is just for fun, so you can build it as you wish.

I was going on the premise that the simpler the process, the more this thread was true to the concept of:
" How few tools (and materials) can you make a knife with..
Starting with a bar of steel and a block of wood,I still say two- with no additional tooling or attachments (no belt changes, no accessory tools (bits, mills, etc.), hammer like objects, anvil shaped objects ,tongs/pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, hardies, glue, rivets, etc.)
Both tools will be turned on as they sit, and not used in any other way but on or off. The end product will be a finished, hardened, and sharpened knife with a solidly mounted wooden handle.

bladsmith i se your point i guess to each his own, but the idea was to work with as little as possible. so glue , no glue, its all in how creative you can be. id still like to see some more of these knives posted, im gonna go and start mine this morning.

Well I did change belts but only for esthetics. gluing the handle scales will make it easier to shape them before wrapping with cord. The cord with the flaring tang should hold everything together.

Thanks Keith for the compliment. This has been a fun little game.

Stacey looking forward to seeing what you bring forth and hearing how you did it. attaching your handle has me stumped.

The weekend is upon us Bill so we should see some activity. Have you cord wrapped yours yet.

Not yet Jim. I haven't made it in to town to get any cord. I am just going to use para cord. No use wasting silk on a crowbar.

So did any of you guys finish up this project???

Hey Bill.... was yours one of your 5 Ms test knives???

:p

Nick,

I think that I am the only one that took this little challenge to task so far. No I didn't use it as one of my test knives but it did turn out pretty good.

This one is a beauty and could have been used as a MS test knife. You did good Bill. :jerkit::jerkit:
