300 SN Flipper

I received mine today. Im returning a pardue 730 due to a broken axis lock spring in less than a few weeks and got the 300 SN instead. After lubing it up, this knife is super smooth and allot easier on my thumbs when opening and closing it. It does not look like a stabbing only knife and is more of a workhorse. The blade length is about the same as the pardue which lets me carry it concealed.

One thing I really like is not only the brown scales but the stainless steel clip and hardware. I doubt carrying it even with my car keys, in the same pocket will show any wear on the knife. I would have liked a lanyard hole but over all she's a keeper.

Now that I have owned a 300 SN for a few months, I will tell anyone to just give it time to break in. Father oiling a few times, and flipping it many, many times, it is smooth as glass. Mine flips as well as any ZT (I have a ZT561) or ball bearing Ken Onion CKRT. I know it is heavy and thick, but I think it is comfortable to handle and use, and it is my favorite current Benchmade.

These knives are fantastic. I have two, one is part of the first run that I don't use, the other is a user I picked up from another forum member. It flips great, is very sharp, and is super grippy! What's not to love?:)

Love it as well. Although I liked it when I first got it, I too have grown more fond of it over time. It's become one of two of my EDC knives. If I hadn't been on a recent kershaw/zt fix I would have jumped on the green limited edition one I found.

Actually thinking of getting one. Everytime I set my sights on any BM, and get it, I was NEVER disappointed.

I have had one on my list, but it always gets bumped down. Something about a flipper design by Benchmade turns me off a little. I do not know why, I always compare it to another flipper that is in a higher price range like a ZT or a HTM knife.

I have had mine for a few months and it flips smoothly. One of my favorite knives in this price range. I feel I got a lot of knife for the money.

When I designed this knife I wanted a knife that was very robust feeling, that was just as good at being a tactical knife or in the woods skinning out a deer. The original version is somewhat blocky but offers a very good grip. The new black and blue version has a more refined grip and sleeker look to it. I like both versions but then again I may be a little opinionated about it.:D

I have the 300 and the 300-1301. I'm not sure how the black and blue will compare to the 1301 but I do like the 1301's grip better than the original. I will say that yes, the 300 may not flip exactly like other flippers but it is very smooth. I will also note that both the 300 and the 300-1301 came out of the box with zero play, perfect centering, and with the smoothest action of any Benchmade I've bought without having to make any adjustments. Overall, it's grown to be one of my favorites.

Know knife is perfect.. You can pick any knife and you are going to find its haters and it's adoring fans. I like this knife. I was looking to get one for camping and hiking excursions. I like the blue scales my self.

Thanks for the insight.I really appreciate the attributes you tried to nail with your design.

Once I got past the rather thick grip, I came to really appreciate its overall excellent qualities, and now have a blue-black version on order! Thank you kindly Mr. Ballknives, for a fine EDC!

I think you design is spot on, I bought a 300 and sold it 3 days after carrying it, but then picked up the 300 -1 what a perfect knife great e.d.c. I order another as a back up best knife benchmade has put this year. I only wish i could get my hands a d-2 steel one at a fair price.

I have all three flavors in plain edge, and while I like the look and feel of the -1301 the most, all three have exceptional fit and finish, very smooth right out of the box, and are some of my favorites. While some designs might grab your attention with their flash, this one really starts to earn your respect after you've handled it a bit.
