I'm sorry I missed the contest, but congrats to coniferwoodsman. It took me 10 hours to drive home from BLADE yesterday, and I couldn't get my pics done in time, but here they are anyway.

We built a bird haven in our back yard, and it has really brought in the woodpeckers.

Here is a yellow-shafted flicker, early fall 2009

Next up a red-bellied woodpecker in the winter snow

And finally, a prehistoric looking pileated woodpecker, larger than a big crow!

I love woodpeckers. That is a nice shot of the Pileated guy. They are pretty wary birds. Very rare to see them over here in Kansas, but there are a few. Thanks for sending the pictures in. That knife you bought a blade is a big winner too.
