#35 Beer and Sausage Bar Tool Knife

I have no idea where to look for this data, so, does anyone "in the know" have any indication of how many of each "flavor" will be made?
400 each , sounds good to me. I wrote something different. Then I read Mr. Mike's statement.

I remember during the last Beer Scout Knife run the early reserves filled in minutes....BUT they were available for days if not weeks from various dealers after they dropped. Maybe it will be the same for the Beer and Sausage...

Either my recollection or yours is not 100% accurate. I recall the last Beer Scout run being an "Open" run which means dealers turned in their orders and production numbers were run from that. And seems like it was close to a 4000pc run. But that would have meant that reservations were open for several days with no upper limit; and at the time the final order was cut everyone was guaranteed. Which means dealers ordered what they thought would last them a good long while.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but not all dealers have a reservation system. I seem to recall Beer Scout Knives as available inventory with some dealers for days if not weeks after they dropped. The reason this sticks with me is because I recall talking myself out of buying duplicates. I suppose some dealers ordered based on an estimate of what they thought they could move as opposed to those with a reserve system knowing they had committed customers. (Just a guess on my part - I’ll defer to knifeswapper knifeswapper for the 411). Admittedly, I’ve purchased dozens of knives since then so my recollection may be a bit foggy.

Point being, the dealers that don’t have early reserves - maybe some of their inventory will be available after these start dropping..?

You are correct; there will surely be dealers that simply drop the Bar Knife. And there were Beer Scouts on the shelves for a good while. My only point was that I don't recall a situation where a reserve closed after minutes but the product sit on shelves once produced. And that was not the case with the last run of Beer Scouts as they were open orders; thus those dealers that did take reservations were not allocated in minutes. Simply because you can take reservation for a week or so from all comers before even turning in the numbers to the factory.

The actual production total for Beer Scouts in 2016 was 2477....the GEC production total for the run of 153216CLs includes the Crown Lifters too. Beer Scouts, in particular the draft beer acrylic and the beer barrel oak were available for several weeks after the release if my memory serves me correctly...I bought a duplicate well after my first (2016 model). The Crown Lifters were around for months if not a year at some retailers.

Markeologist Markeologist I think you are correct about the Crown Lifters Mark  I recall them being around for a long stretch, they were not perceived as 'popular' ;) Incomprehensible as they're tough, useful and had some fine bone, but lacked the BS or S glamour:D

Not only the Beer Scout, there were plenty of 15s some dating 2012! The change of marketing politics is hard to understand. Add this to dealers asking cosmic shipping fees ($30+!) or plainly not minding sending abroad, all this will lead me to softly write off GEC of my buying plans. I am too old to either believe in Santa or die of jealousy. After all, I'll never own a Cadillac nor be a Dictator! :( (come on Winchesters:))

Yes, I recall having both the "Golden Ale" and "Draft Beer" versions for weeks. And the "S" models of "Golden Ale" were available for nearly a year at the factory store.

I feel like with the Beer and Sausage, you really need to get two so you can emulate the hobo knives with your fork in one hand and the knife in the other. Plus bonus is you get two beard combs so you are operating at top speed in your beard cleaning efforts.

Crown lifters were around for a loooooooooooong time at dealers. I remember looking for a GEC for almost a year. They didn't have anything exciting from mid 2017 till the 43 came along. I almost got a cap lifter but couldn't get past that weird troll etch.

Im glad that the BTK is not getting a large obnoxious etch. GEC could have gone overboard with a another nod to Oktoberfest with an etch. the only reason this is being labeled as "beer & sausage" and not going simply as the Bar Tool Knife is due to the time of year its being released.
