#35 Beer and Sausage Bar Tool Knife

I’ll gladly believe it when I see it. I bet they’ll skillfully show us the rest of the knife, except the comb. Hopefully last minute their comb supplier runs out, and suddenly we have an altered knife design.

Looks like it’s moving along quickly though. I’m interested to see how this all plays out.

Its not stainless though... I think a beer foam utensil ought to be ss.

My thought exactly.

I probably won’t use the comb for grooming personally.. it’s a bit of a head scratcher, but I love the quirkiness of it and the fork/knife combo is nice

Yes, it is a head scratcher, not a comb, although it could be used as such.

GEC knows its market so well.

when I saw this on the facebook groups, I was wondering if this was serious or a joke. Ive shaved off my covid stache since its been awfully hot with the mask on so nothing to comb, but way too many implements for my liking. cmon bill single blade 35 spear. that would sell like hot cakes!

I've been wracking my brain to think of alternative uses for that comb.

de-veining shrimp?
de-cobbing corn?
perforating pie crusts?

I agree, it will be a shame if it's too late to change the shield to Pie Tool :)

Why would anyone balk at a patina'ed beer foam blade? Most people go out of their way to MAKE their blades patina, sticking them in vinegar, or onions, etc... they then use them to cut food for eating.. how could a patina'ed beer foam blade be any worse than that?
I envision a whole new thread on "what beer puts the best patina on your foam comb?"

Lol, I think it’s funny the reaction it’s getting. Personally I will get a lot more use out of the comb than I would the pen blade on the 33. I just don’t see a use for two similar blades on a knife. With a clip main, should be a coping secondary, that’s what I turned my Dog Paw 33’s secondary into.
Whether it’s meant to be a beard comb, foam comb or whatever, for me it’s better than redundant blades. I don’t see a hygiene issue as it’s not like you fold it back in with hairs hanging of it. Plus if I’m at a bbq or something, perhaps enjoying some, (Messy with a beard) corn on the cob, I’d use the beard comb after eating anyway.
I picked up a dog groomer RR with caplifter and comb quite some time ago. I’ve used the comb as a beard comb and it works great. I’ve also used it to check for ticks on the dogs.
I like the little fork on the caplifter too, I’ll have to try it out to see if it will need tweaking as the tines look like they could be thinner and pointier but who knows, they might be fine. I thought the tines on my Case hobo would be too blunt but it works fine.
I’m really hoping this isn’t GEC messing with us as this looks like a great tool.

*You know what I’d love to see, a no blade 35. Scissors, comb, file with a tiny eyeglass screwdriver tip, caplifter/screwdriver. Something I can carry at work where NO knives are allowed. It would be a super handy tool that would be allowed anywhere.

Such things are called chindogu in Japan. Here's an exemple :

I would find it incredibly useful. The scissors would let me open packages and supplies without breaking any rules. The other tools would come in handy for me. I don’t think you need to insult an idea just because it doesn’t appeal to you. Redundant blades serve me no purpose as I said, but I don’t say the knife is useless if it has them. Like the pocket carver, as I’m not a whittler it doesn’t work for me, but it’s apparently great for those who do.

There’s an excellent line of knives called “Swiss Army” by Victorinox that have about every combination of tools you could want. They even have variants with no blades. Check ‘em out. ;)

(But no SAK I’ve ever seen has a beard comb or beer foam flicker... clearly, this is groundbreaking and a pivotal moment in slip joint history. Ahem.)

In all seriousness, I quite like this one. Curious to see what other covers might be available.

* Neither GEC nor Dadpool are liable for marshmallow-roasting injuries
Ha!
I sometimes see folks ask why punch blades are so popular when most people have very little use for leather tools. I'll point out how many other uses there are for an awl: scraping, spearing olives, reaming out glued up nozzles on tubes of epoxy, pokin' stuff, etc.

There must be some other uses for that comb blade, but it's hard to think of one that isn't redundant with the fork...maybe for straining the seeds when squeezing limes?

I’d take the awl over a caplifter any day of the week!!
