$350, What would You Buy?

For me probably a Bark River Bravo 1 3V (Cocobolo or Ironwood Burl) , Fallkniven Frej, or ZT 560 Blackwash. That Blackwash is SO sexy.

White Castle belly bombers all the way.

Ah, we only have Krystal Burger here in the South. I'd love to try a White Castle!

I got a gun in case y'all missed it. A Ruger LCP for a "I need to run to the grocery store and am too lazy to pack my Glock 27" gun.

Anyone messed with many of the OTF Microtechs? I've never even handled an OTF knife but they intrigue me. I wish the D.O.C. wasn't S30V. Not my favorite steel.

I have several Microtech OTF's and if you're shooting for one..... you will not be disappointed..... Although not a fan of the UTX 70. I, neck carry a Scarab in a custom made kydex a back up....

$350.... Hmmmmm??????
For a practical purchase, I'd say Spyderco Lionspy. Its a beautiful piece of work and its a tank, but I'm biased, Spyderco makes folders just as good and better than alot of customs we pay hundreds, even thousands of dollars for that end up as Shelf Queens..... My Shelf Queens are Spyderco's !!!!!!

A train ticket to Florida - it's colder than the devil up here! I can take some of the blades I already have.

My DOC is in Elmax but MicroTech does great heat treatment on all their steels so I wouldn't shy away from their S30V which is still a great steel. DOC is big and heavy but it has some of the best elements from Strider and MT knives in one package plus a great flipper to boot. These days they come in a variety of colors as well: black, green, blue, tan and red.

I totally agree, The elmax on my Microtech seems alot better then ZT elmax, or spyderco for that matter

Microtech's S30V is no slouch - they get the absolute best out of their heat treats. I didn't like the DOC because of how painful it was to disengage the lock. I found myself reaching for my utility backup knife just because I didn't want to bruise my thumb further.

350 buys you a 204P Paramilitary and a second knife at current market prices. You could even get an 0801 and an 056X if you shop around.

If I had 350, though, which is really what you asked... I'd probably hold on to it and watch the for-sale-by-maker custom folders subforum. I recently nabbed a custom Z-Wear LSCF Wharncliffe for under $400 - Alan Davis and Elliot have been posting a number of gorgeous and interesting knives as of late. So much so that I've been strongly considering liquidating my collection to replace all of my knives with customs. There's something to be said about having a knife that is truly unique. I'm currently debating whether it's worth losing out on having a warranty, truth be told.

If I was to go production knives, probably a M390 0350 (190), Ontario Utilitac II Tanto (30), and a Boker Kwaiken (90) that I would use the remaining cash to have a flipper mod done.

They sell frozen White Castle burgers in the supermarket but it's not the same. You have to go there and experience the onion smell in the air as you approach it.

LOL. Sounds awesome! I don't get to eat crappy food too often (wife's a health nut, hey, she's hot so I'm not complaining!) but when I do, it's Taco Bell, Krystal, the best of the worst! :D

I might get a couple knives to try out, perhaps a paramilitary or Manix 2 (S30V). Probably though I would invest in a nice set of bench stones or maybe a set of waterstones. I could go for a custom fixed blade, but haven't seen the style I'm interested in. Perhaps a good hammock and tarp like the tubby Englishman uses, that Mears fellow.
