  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

$350, What would You Buy?

Sebenza, sprint run Para 2, I would rather buy two separate nice knives, like a Ti Military and a benchmade 940 or 530, spyderco tuff... So on and so forth

A Red Satin Finished Microtech DOC. Really want that knife! Just can't find one in stock  .

Given I already have a strider, I'd take that $350, buy a Spyderco delica and a hooker.

Microtech's S30V is no slouch - they [MicroTech] get the absolute best out of their heat treats.

Absolutely. There are now at least three different steels for DOC blades: Elmax, S30V and 154CM.

I didn't like the DOC because of how painful it was to disengage the lock. I found myself reaching for my utility backup knife just because I didn't want to bruise my thumb further.

MT DOC smoothens and loosens up quite a bit. Flips like a charm, lock disengages without bruised thumb and I can even open it with just my thumb! It's a beast with some of the best elements of Strider & Marfione. As I said before, my only minor issue with the DOC is the heavy weight (7+ ounces) and generally speaking with the stupid proprietary screws MT uses in most of their folders. Yes, I have the $200 screwdriver for it but why!

I've been strongly considering liquidating my collection to replace all of my knives with customs. There's something to be said about having a knife that is truly unique. I'm currently debating whether it's worth losing out on having a warranty, truth be told.

It's a quandary I've often contemplated.

small sebenza insingo.
One of the few I prefer to remove clip and drop in the pocket. Not that there is anything wrong with the clip.

I find the insingo blade shape extremely usefull.

I'm with archieblue. Small Sebenza Insingo, or anything fixed from Daniel Fairly. Daniel is the man.
