3rd Knife WIP

Nice work Tim. I like your mark also.

yeah FTO that'll be about it. unfortunately when i drilled the pin holes i only had those really tiny corbys which meant the scales had to be sanded quite thin to get the corbys nice and flat. if i take any more thickness off rounding the handle ill risk making it thinner and even less comfortable. its pretty nice in hand now anyway. thanks fiddleback, now i just need to get an etcher to put it on the blades. thanks for the kind words everyone.

Ok, so i decided to scrap the cross hash texture on this one. Maybe next time so...I'm DONE! It doesn't have a coating of anything on the handle yet but i buffed it up to give the same effect. I quickly got it finished thisarvo so i could get some nice shots of it outside.

Here's some of the photo's

You can sort of see the the tang taper in this one. but it'd only about 1mm taper so it's pretty subtle.

This has been a pretty fun project and I even had 2 PMs asking if i'll be making these to sell! so that's positive.

Thanks for watching everyone! I'll post a pic when i get get around to making/buying an etcher and out my mark on it.

Tim.

I think the makers mark will have to wait a while. I set up a charger and had a bit of a play etching some scrap but then i went to make a stencil and realized that it was too hard >.< so i'll have to get one made i guess.

Tim,

It's been very interesting to watch you develop as a new knifemaker and this newest knife looks very nice to me. I'm wanting to get into knifemaking in the immediate future and you are an inspiration.

Your knife actually reminds me of a knife design I recently posted pics of here.

Thanks a lot dillon, that means a lot to me.

OK, So as I've declared in an earlier post, I'm inpatient. So i decided to just go ahead and cut a simplified version of my mark out and etch away. Here's some pictures of my ghetto set up and the results.

The set up and the aftermath. As you can see, the electrolyte seeped under the stencil and bit which caused it to be a little messy.

It's a little bit shallower than i would have liked and a bit messy where the salt water got a bit under the stencil but it went alright, considering all i did to clean it up was give it a hit with 800 again and a quick buff.

I guess that's about it for my WIP on this knife then. Keep an eye out in the for sale forums in the coming months. I might try to sell a few :D

Thanks for watching.
Tim.

Not bad, Tim!

I like the whole outcome very much, and can't wait to see what more is in store from you.
