4-Max?! USA Made, CPM-20CV, Cold Steel?! This can't be happening!

Cold steel should of went with three rivers manufacturing for these 4 max's...They would of been brought to market well around their intended target date. Instead we're all still left waiting, two years later...

Im pretty sure Ive read through this entire thread and been following closely the whole way. Im very excited about this knife, but have one question. What is the target hardness for the 20CV? Hopefully around 61 where we could get some solid toughness as well as amazing edge retention.

Just received mine this afternoon (ordered it on 1/24/15) after a year-and-a-half wait (!)

First impressions are good....man, this thing is a BRUTE ! Far more substantial than any of my Zero Tolerance knives, it seems aimed more towards the Crusader Forge/ Medford end of the spectrum. Fit and finish are excellent, all edges properly contoured for a good ergonomic hand fit, grips have just enough texture on them for their intended use. Blade steel has a very tough-looking finish, under 8x magnification looks more like a Sleipner/Bohler product rather than any S30V or S35V that I have previously seen....edge sharpness is very good right out of the box.
Clip is simple, with excellent retention. Looks like it can be flipped to the other side for left-hand (albeit tip-up only) carry.

So, to sum it up, this is a BIG, tough, heavy-duty working knife, looks like it will perform any task you demand of it....

P.S.: I can feel Andy Demko`s influence ALL OVER this knife....IMHO, the Triad lock blows all other locking systems right into the weeds....it`s a beast of a lock that compliments this knife perfectly.

Any problems, let us know (805) 658-0180 - we're here to help :)

The 4-MAX was developed with Andrew to bridge the gap between production folders and custom knives.
It's made to his exact specifications right here in the USA.
It's an expensive knife, but it's CPM-20CV!
In our tests it was a tank. More than a few of our employees (myself included) starting saving their pay for this knife as soon as we saw the prototype.

i really want this knife

So...I just ran across the 4-MAX and was looking for more information. Are they now being produced in Italy? Viper? What is going on? Who is stocking the 4-MAX?

I have similar questions. They are definitely going to be produced in Italy from now own, but by whom, and more importantly when will they be available.

On one hand I'd hate to see it not being made in the US on the other it'll probably make it more affordable for more people.
