4-Max?! USA Made, CPM-20CV, Cold Steel?! This can't be happening!

I was willing to wait(of course I was impatience like anybody else), I like to be hopeful that they were dealing with problems but that the folder was going to be switch liked that, no , very disappointed it looked so cool and now is just a weird cnc stone washed fugly . Crap! all this waiting for this ?! they truly shot themselves in the foot.

OK, some people come into this subforum to learn about Cold Steel, so I couldn't allow a couple of these fallacious statements to stand uncontested.
This isn't Cold Steel's first U.S.A.-made knife, not by a long shot. They've put out many American-made knives over the years, both fixed and folding.
You might want to pick a different brand for comparison. Some of the earlier Pacific Cutlery balisongs were of Japanese manufacture. And do you remember Benchmade's Red Class line?
I'm not trying to nitpick, as I also greatly respect Benchmade's focus on American manufacturing. But among the major knife manufacturers, you're going to find almost none that have maintained exclusively domestic production.
It is a big deal to me. I want to see my fellow citizens gainfully employed. And any knife company helping to make that happen by having at least some of its product line made in America is going to get my support.
I was very excited to learn that the Ranch Boss and now the 4-MAX are going to be U.S.-made. I don't care how much they tweak the 4-MAX design--I'm getting one!

The version originally shown, with its pointier point and more angular transition between ricasso and primary grind, was way more "MAXish" than the latest version. Idk. I'm not necessarily "out," but like I said, this knife is a wait-and-see deal for me at this point.

Yeah, final form of 4-Max is disappointment. Very good reason to not buy it and instead get another, cheaper CS.

What I'm saying is cold steel is acting like they are the bees knees for making knives in America when plenty of other companies have been doing it for decades

Yes but they are the only ones making Cold Steel knives in America.
Cold Steel isn't acting like anything. It's we, the customers, who are touting the return of domestic Cold Steel knives.
I'm excited about it, just as I was excited when Spyderco opened its Golden manufacturing facility, when Benchmade and TOPS brought all of their production back to the U.S., when CRKT introduced its first American-made knife in 2014, when Al Mar put out a domestically produced model or two, when Ontario announced plans to expand its plant this year, etc. Particularly in this day and age, it's worth remarking when a company bucks the trend and brings manufacturing back to America.
