#44 Northwoods barlow.

Derrick, Charlie I have a question. The company logos on bolsters on Barlows are flipped on either side, is that common to all companies? I noticed this on my Remington. I thought they would be uniform. Derrick, I would be interested to see what Bill does in regards to the logo on the bolsters placement.

Bolsters on a standard Barlow are symmetrical. The dies to make them are expensive and time consuming.
For most Barlows, the front and back bolsters are identical, so the back one will be upside down, as it relates to the backspring.
Many were made with a plain rear bolster, so this was not an issue.
If you change the orientation, like the TC Barlows, and make the bottom of the bolster the edge that butts the handle, it becomes a non-issue IMO.
Some are upside down relative to historic cutlery practice - go figger!

I like the blade shape, I like the handle... As it is a big knife it really needs a (very) strong spring. Such a big boy with a weak pull would be a true disappointment. I can already see mine in ebony... A lanyard hole/tube would be nice, too.

Should be the first week or so of December. We are pulling to have them ready for Christmas giving! :)

Awesome! That is what I was hoping for. Looking forward to seeing some pictures of the final product.

This one just might be my first Northwoods. A drop point w/ swedge, a nice size. It could be a very nice hunter. Would love to see one with a solid black ebony for a user. Ivory just might be sweet, but I'm thinking this one would be a user. Too bad they aren't making it out for the deer gun season in WI & MI.

@Derrick - Are these still on time for Christmas? Is there a KSF belt sheath that fits these?

I hope so. I don't think we have any belt sheaths that will fit them.

Bill said he hopes to have them out next week. fingers crossed.

Do you know what size the pivot pin will be?

I think I've seen someone complain about GEC using the same sized pivot pins on small and large knives.

Do you know how wide it will be?

No clue. I haven't heard any complaints. BUT that doesn't mean there are none. :)
