$450 knife???

I really like Southern Grind, own several Spider Monkeys and Bad Monkeys. I have been carrying them for around a year now.

I had a Reate torrent and loved the shit out of it. I sold it because I was too worried about scratching or losing it. The most expensive knife I've owned was about $800 though, and I couldn't justify it. I'm poor lol. I just ordered another reate torrent yesterday and can't wait for it to get here. Of all the $300- $800 knives I've had, that's the one I miss the most.

I would save up another $450 and go for a Demko AD15 thinned down to whatever you feel comfy with behind the edge.

This guy came in the mail today. Going to use it for awhile and see if I have any other needs it doesn't fill and go from there :D

Appreciate all the great ideas

Still considering that dozer workhorse ;)

Strider SnG or SMF. I used them both in Baghdad along with a platoon of infantry Marines and they performed fantastic from everything from opening cans of food, breaching doors, digging in hard packed soil, assisting in vehicle repairs to bloody ass hand to hand combat. We all swore by those knives they all made it back. None of them ever failed and were easy to maintain and sharpen in the field by hand.
Now back at home I'm still using mine in the woods from gutting n skinning deer to basic woodcraft chores, working outside in the garden and general household chores. It's strong as hell and light weight for it's strength. The ergonomics are superb bare handed or gloved.
I own 90% of all those others mentioned and they are fine blades but the Strider I know for fact does everything I mentioned incredibly well. Something about a knife you can actually say your life depended on and held up its end of the bargain.
