5160 johndeere shaft steel update.

Thanks guys.
ED have them weight it ,, that should tell them if it's all there or not.. :)
I hope it didn't get dented :D
I'm interested in your input of it, same stuff just newer than the old shafts
I was told they we be making about 15,000 pounds of the shafts next week
I'll have more ends coming. :)

Tracy
I added some to it in the beginning trying to for see things like
credit card charges and paypal charges possible shop time in cutting
I hoped just one cut.
ship to me,, I didn't figure in so much time in packing it up to ship.
but I'm getting better at doing that. if I can get guys to order
a min of 35 or so pounds to cut down on packing time that would be good.
but most are going for that or more most the time.
n some guys didn't take what they said they would, and some what more then they said so it's working out other that time packing the small orders.
I'm OK with it.. :) come on, pictures of knives guys :)
there are only a few of you left I need to contact .. till then.,
keep an eye out for ED's findings..

Hello Dan:
It will be a few days until we can forge some blades, then it will take at least a week before we can do the testing. We will get some photos on the knives as they come along. Thanks Again
Ed

Got to finish up some orders before I can try it, but it came the other day and looks good, can't wait to start pounding. Thanks Dan.

Dan,
Are you comeing to the Blade Show in Hotlanta? I'll bet enough people would want some to pay for a couple of drinks anyway.
Lynn

Ed Thanks
I'm sure all here are waiting wiggling in their seats to see what you think of it too
I know I am.

Tracy ? is that a wombat? <spelling

Lynn, if I could get a plane trip out of it ., I'd be there for sure..
that must = 5 1/2 drinks at least in the PIT right  :D
I had a great time there the last time I went.. but not this year I'm afraid :(

you're welcome Will.. :)

I'd like to hear from you guys as you work it, and show pictures...too.
how it made it to you, if USPS was good to the ( heavy) flat rate packages,
my post lady is starting to look at me funny..I told my carryer she's lucky I don't make her pick it up here ;) .. she thanked me :D

Ed said he'd input here soon also. :) can't wait :)

I hope to get my forge up and in running shape soon
so I can bang on it too. :)

Hello Dan:
The first blade is forged and in the 950 degree soak right now. It forges great, no faults in the steel were observed as we worked it down. Will be about a week before we can have any performance results.
Again We really apppreciate your work
Ed
