586 Mini-Barrage M390

Mine arrived yesterday. Fantastic knife! Feels rock solid, no blade play, hair popping sharp and flies out with a very strong thwack. Not sure what to think of the safety though. I've been using it just because it seems the assist kicks in really early and i'd hate for it to slam open inside my pocket.

I am happy to hear you are pleased with the 586!

My 586 Barrage just arrived and I am blown away by the quality, fit and finish, feel and sharpness of this knife! Te edge is evenly ground and I really like the stone washed M390. This is my first assisted opening knife. It opens with an authoritative thump and locks up as solid as a rock.

Now my Ritter Mini and M4 Mini Griptilian have some competition.

Way to go Benchmade!

Here are some pictures of my 586 Mini Barrage and some of his friends (556 Mini Grip M4 and Doug Ritter Mini). I am really digging this knife!

My 586 arrived Friday and I absolutely love it so far. Really great quality knife. The M390 blade was very sharp out of the box and its my first m390 steel knife but from what I hear and my first impressions its a great blade. Loving the 586 so far. For the price I paid, this knife was well worth it. Glad everyone feels the same way about the 586!

I just got one and I love it. It's got all the makings of a perfect EDC blade. I had the big boy, but it was too big for edc use. It was loud on opening and pretty intimidating to non knife people. This one is sequel sized. I love it. The assist, while not my favorite feature, is a lot more subtle, even tho it still fires really hard. It's like the mini grip was sent to finishing school. I cannot speak highly enough of it. I love 3" and less for my folders, and this one is the current king of the castle. I thought the volli was waht i wanted to 581 to be, i realize i was wrong. For work my CF Shoki, CRKT Eros or my 707 sequel get the nod. This beauty will take time away from them, and i suspect it will be a lot of time.

I've been eyeing one of these to complement my 581. When I do get it, I'm going to de-assist it also.

My new Benchmade 586 Mini-Barrage with the needed blade length of 3 inches or less for Los Angeles should be here soon. The M390 is a real bonus at an excellent price point. At a store I handled the bigger 581 Barrage and thought that the AXIS-Assist opening was a little too snappy especially compared to 1000001 Volli. So, I may have to de-assist my Mini-Barrage. We'll see.

I got my new Benchmade 586 Mini-Barrage today and like it a lot even with the assisted opening. A small 2.9" blade of M390 for under $140 delivered is good value. The big brother of the 586 is the 581 with a 3.6" blade of M390 and is only a few dollars more. May have to swing for that too... Eventually.
