My block came in today and WOW- I could probably get some scales and a hidden tang out of it. I cut out a section that has a crack for testing purposes- sitting in water for now, I'll check it out tomorrow (in case knife gets left out in the rain overnight, or such). I don't know that I will have anything ready soon but it may end up on a wedding knife for my sister in law this summer.

It should do pretty good. They hold up good in excessive heat too. Your block was heat cured at 250 for 3 hours.

I trust ya;). I have never had this kind of stabilization before so I have to play:p. What kind of wood is this so I know, cause I don't- looks different from the maple I have, but I don't know many domestic woods surprisingly. Looks great whatever it is and now I have to do it justice, thank you.

Can you send a photo. I forgot to write down what I sent to everybody. That way I can give a positive ID. Thanks, Mark
