6/27: www.buckknives.com new look and feel

I agree there are some oddities and inconsistencies with the new site. For example, some category links show an image between the menu bar and the item list and others don't. The site reorg and PWA feel different than the prior site, which we're just not used to yet. I'm not sure it's all bad, per se, but it also doesn't feel speedy even on my M2 Max MacBook Pro. Part of that may be the intentional 'slow collapse' of the dropdown nav menu before displaying the new selection.

I liked it when I would type in "112" and it would immediately show me the 112s. Now it takes multiple clicks.

Here is another item I was just 'bitten' by. I saw the 112 Nickel DP item with a price range. When I clicked the item, I only saw the higher price of the two and was wondering "How do I see the lower price?" I almost made a post here about that possible 'data issue'. I eventually realized there was a selector. It was just not obvious, too subtle to see easily.

It was this:

There is nothing to visually group the two blade steels choices into a single selection. If there were a drop-down selector, it would be obvious. If there was a 'Select:' label prefix with a group box around the circles, that might help. But, as it is, it was not obvious these were clickable selections. That little circle around the one choice is just too subtle to know the other is also a selector.

I wish there was a way to disable the persistent "10% off" banner.
They already email me many times a day. I don't want to sign up for persistent phone texts.
If they only texted you for a new BOTM release, I'd be interested.

But I'm not signing up to have my phone go off as many times as they email me.

I work at elevations, and I'm not interested in being bothered with
offers for expensive boots, or "knives under $50" while trying do my job.

Some sites let you choose the number....
But lately it's almost insane.

Sometimes I think vendors get your info and then they just abuse it.

On the old system, I changed my email address when I moved, because my email was provided by my isp and was terminated when I changed services at my new address. Even though I changed the email address, I still had to use my old email as my login to the Buck site. After signing back up as advised by buck, I do not see bcci pricing and my history does not exist. I tried to make an account with the old email, but it said an account already exists for it. I'm sure buck is inundated with site related questions. How is the best way to figure this out Buck Knives Inc. Buck Knives Inc. ?

I'd very much like to see that banner disappear!

I've tried closing it out just to have it come back.
I've actually grown to hate it.
yep ^ .

that popup 10% that takes a handful of seconds to put the x up in the corner to click and make it go away just slows me down and irritates me. I hate it as well.....like 10% off but I don't get to use it anyways. so it's just an annoyance for me. oh and I've grown to hate it also......did I say I hate it enough? in case not, I hate it.....

Please send me a message with your name and login email and I can make sure to get you set up correctly.

And the thing is, I know the site recognizes me because if I leave something in the cart, I later get an email about it. It's smart enough to do that.....
But it's not smart enough to know I don't get to use the very thing it constantly bugs me to sign up for.

And I thought for sure JB would have signed up for text alerts..... I believe I recall you speaking of them.
And the 10% still pops up for you as well......?

Huh

yep. it pops up everytime and even again sometimes more if I stay long enough on the site

I find myself not going to this website. The old one was fun to browse and I went there a couple times a day. This one is not stimulating and not interesting. It reminds me of a site a brand new business with not much to sell would make for themselves. It feels unorganized. Constantly clicking, even though I've already selected "all knives," because it's the best way to see the most product. It's busy and complicated and I'd rather do something else.

I don't go there much myself anymore.

The nice thing about that is I no longer get the frequent follow-up texts after I looked at something.

The "brand new business" assessment is spot-on. Like it's based on a cut-and-paste WordPress template or something to save money instead of purposefully designed.

I get emails not texts. Maybe you should switch that up. Still delete 99٪ of them, but texts must me annoying.
