600th post giveaway in honor of RescueRiley

Please, count me in! Thanks for the giveaway!

Here's my tip: It turns out you don't really need much in the way of knives when you are going on a daytrip and nothing goes wrong.

And a bonus photo, my favorite folder on a hiking trip.

Very nice gesture! Thanks for the chance. I should be coming up on 500 before to much longer. Thanks for the chance. -DT

If RR gets one entry for every ten members that enter, we should increase his odds ;).

I'm in.

Tip - Take a kid fishing.

Heres a tiny knife with a tiny fish (the species I happen to be names after :p)

Here's a little trick I found that works for me.

I went camping not too long ago and was chopping up some wood and needed it to be off the ground and not roll around. I chopped a wide shallow notch in a log to rest the other wood I was chopping on.

It provided a nice stable place to put the wood on that I was chopping.

I'll play, mainly to increase RR's chances, he's deserving !

My tip, Never trust the weather report, if it calls for clear and sunshine...pack rain gear !

Ooh, I'm in! My tip that I've picked up is how to sharpen a convex edge with sandpaper and a mouse pad... a great tip, I think!

Here's a picture of my dog Marley when we were out for a fall walk.

Wow very generous giveaway!

I am gonna sit this one out as I just ordered my own Izula today from KSF. I believe he has them instock!

On 2nd thought if R.R.'s name gets entered for every 10, I am in. If I win Riley gets the knife!

Here's my tip. Watch where you step!

My Stomper Field Knife.

I have only posted in here a few times.

But I'll enter this one with the understanding that if my name is picked you give the knife to RescueRiley

My tip:

If your lost in the woods......FORGET EVERYTHING YOU SAW ON MAN VS. WILD.:D:D

I think this is a very generous offer as well!

I want to participate but like kgd, I will support RAT Cutlery as well and I was lucky enough to win an Izula prototype. :D:thumbup:

If I would get selected as the winner, I would default to RescueRiley.

I've learned so much here and can't wait to get out with my boy - 4 yrs old soon - to start learning with and teaching him.

Two things I've learned:
1. Be open to suggestions and new techniques and don't be afraid to try to do something new or different, even if you may fail.
2. Pack a good first-aid kit always.

A pic of an area my son and I will start to explore this spring:

Wow I'm in! thanks a lot!

My motto that I always live by is "prepare for the worst, hope for the best".
This is the basis of survival in any situation and also goes with "better to have and not need, than need and have not"

I hate entering contests because I don't feel like I contribute enough here but one more entry gets RR closer to another entry :D The best tip I've learned so far was to bring chocolate in multiple forms for the wife when we go out. When she gets tired/cold/cranky it can work wonders to improve her mood, and increase the chances of going again with her.

Thanks for the contest!

Well, in keeping with the spirit, I'll get RR's name one step closer to another entry, and as hard as it will be, if I win, the knife will go to to either my girlfriend,(don't worry she has no interest in pink) or find a good home beside the RC-3 on my "after the ring" wishlist. As for my outdoor tip, the best way to learn is to experiment, and the best way to teach is to learn.
And remember: if at first you do succeed, try not to look so surprised!

For sure want mine to go to RR if I win, he deserves it!

If I could give one piece of advice, even though we prepare and prepare, most certainly nothing is going to happen we have fun and never forget our time in the woods, but make sure you take pictures to allways have that memory fresh in you mind.
