#6375 Case Large Stockman

Nice knife. Also interested in follow up reports. I think the Case large stockmans are a great value, considering the amount of material that goes into one. Most models can be found in the $35.00 to $45.00 range.

I forgot to mention that Schrade made an Old Timer called the Lumberjack. Massive knife with rounded bolsters.

Nice looking knife AZ. Here's the CV 6375 I got in December 2012 and posted about then. They're great knives.

Since this post, I have given this knife to a BF member. Not to worry - I have another one.

^^^ Thanks Ed, yours is another one I've checked out many times - one of those that inspired my interest in the large Stockman :)

Great looking knife there. The big boy stockmans are some of my favorites. I had a really hard time picking between the one you got there and this one. I ended up with this amber bone rancher because I already had a few in the plain amber bone and there are a few others in the same I plan on picking up and didn't want to be too redundant with my choices. Love this knife and goes great with a belt sheath and a smaller knife in the pocket.

Rob,

I def remember that one too, unique scales on that one :)

Yours and Ed's are 2012 production also, as is this one I just received. A good year? :)

Seems to be a good year to me, Ive put that knife through some tough work and its done me right so far.

I enjoyed the pictorial review, Jeff! Like you, I've recently discovered the versatility of the Stockman pattern as well. I now own a large in "Purple Haze", a medium blue with red shield, and a medium yellow CV (with punch). I can well see why you like the large version. It's a beast!

Good lookin' knife, arizona. Case's amber bone is underrated, very nice material, as is the jigging itself. I always carry a large stockman when outdoors, hunting or scouting. The Queen #49 is the same size as the Case 75 pattern, and the D2 steel is just about stainless.

The Moore Maker #5304 is even an eighth of an inch larger than the Case #6375 or Queen #49 Cattle King, and has the round bolsters.
Their 1095 is comparable to Case's CV, a point or two softer than GEC's 1095.

This is my first Case in Amber bone. I've admired the Amber knives many here post for a long time. I'm really liking it. My very fav Case bone is Chestnut but I don't think they offer this model in that color. My chestnut Peanut is a beauty and they age very nicely. This Amber bone sort of darkens over time from what I've seen.

That Moore-Maker is fantastic! What a beauty. It's 1/8" longer than the 6375? Wow, lol

Another fan of the `375 here. They're a little big for pocket carry but they just so happen to fit nicely in a Buck 112 leather belt sheath. If it's not enough of a handful, check out the stag version - know the scales on mine double the width of the knife!

For a large round-bolster stockman, the Case Sowbelly pattern may be worth a gander. Not quite as big as the `375 but packs a fair amount of blade.

Jeff, nice one. I love the stockman pattern. Hard working knives. Hope you will enjoy it.

Great looking example, and one of my favorites too. I've a 6.5375 (bone jigged to resemble stag) in cv that was my only daily carry for several years. I hope you get much enjoyment from yours; I suspect you will.

Ranchman, they made a 6375 stockman, which had the same item # of 204 that was made using chestnut bone. I am not sure of the exact years. It was made with CV and S/S both, and the years as I remember was 1999 and 2000. There might have been made earlier, or later also. Keep your eyes out to find one. I have one in S/S, and thought I also had one in CV.

Ah ok too bad they're out of production. I'm liking this Amber bone though, it does age nicely in member's knives shown here.
