#78 American Jack

Hard time getting enough light for pictures this time of year.

I really like this new 78, even more than I thought I would. I love the way the bolsters are very rounded and thin. It reminds me of older Case knives I have. I tried to get a picture but its hard to show. The snap is a very satisfying 6 or so. Very smooth action. I think they did well regarding spring tension on this model. That said, I always want stronger springs.
Another great offering from GEC. Nailed it!

Very nice Mark! This SFO wasn't one of my favorites, until I watched the vendor's video. This has a nice modern- ish look. If I had any say in the matter, I'd prefer steel pins and liners...but regardless, it's still a top notch knife!

Nice review, Mike. Looks like a fine knife, now to choose a cover....
Thanks Jamie! Good luck choosing a cover, there are some good options.

Ryan, It is definitely a top notch knife!! I like it alot! I had the same thoughts as you, especially the pins.

The micartas turned out very very well. The shield is perfectly proportioned for the frame and the color looks just right. Glad you got one Mark!
Thanks James! I agree, it fits real well. I really like this shield.
I cant wait to see your DI:thumbsup:

I received my Tidioute two-blade model in smooth white bone last week. The covers on mine have a lot of character, with flecks and some darker shading.
The pull is around a 6 to 7 and there is no problem accessing the main blade’s nail nick.
Heavy, solid feel in hand. Very pleased with this one! :)

Classic good looks!! That one is splendid

Anyone have any idea about when the Blue Camel Bone KSF 78s will go up?
My guess is they have them but are busy photographing the individual knives before putting them up on the site. Lots of variation in the blue camel bone colours. Should be very soon.

Just spoke to Josh at KSF, they haven't received the blue camel bones from GEC yet. They are hoping to receive them "any day now".

I have been away, busy with other stuff. I really like the looks of the 78; does anyone know when and if a stag handle version will be released?

My Cocobolo 78 should be arriving today according to the tracking. Going to go snag it on my lunch and hopefully snap a few pics to share here.

New knife days are awesome, though it does kind of make it difficult to concentrate at work...

There is a small batch of Ironwood SFO posted, if someone did not get one from the first batch.
