#78 American Jack

James, What a beauty that one is!! Absolutely fantastic! I got to them kinda late so I missed out, but you sure picked a winner! I really like the Ironwood and prop shield The Knife Connection has been running! Great combo:thumbsup:

My Ironwood was in the mail yesterday when I got home. These are some of the prettiest wood handles on any knife I've seen. Fantastic knife!

Thanks Mark! I could not remove that slight reddish tint in those pics but you get the idea how she looks. I think Ironwood may be my favorite cover material so of course I'm happy with it. Being called the "American Jack" I think it's appropriate to be covered in wood that grows stateside.
BTW, sorry you didn't get an Ironwood but that beautiful Micarta you have should be excellent consolation. ;):) Don't know where I was or what I was thinking  when those were release but I do know I have my regrets about not getting one. :(:D
Have a most pleasant day good friend.

Totally agree about the name and homegrown wood covers!
Hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday season, my friend!

that black canvas micarta came in, was too late for pictures but will get one up soon

These single bladed Tidioutes are looking great, everyone.:cool:

Are they as pinch-able as the closed pics make me think they are?

My micarta is definitely pinchable, but I believe the northfields may not allow enough purchase on the blade with the cut swedge. Similar scenario happened with vipers, I believe.

They are pinch-able but take a little effort. (for me)

Thank you for the replies, Mark and tstaut. I kinda figured what you guys just confirmed...do-able on these, maybe not so much on the Northfields. A bit like my 74's - in one of each trim - I reckon.

...and so did the Desert Ironwood

Excellent F&F as good as I've seen on a GEC.
Great walk and talk with a pull at a solid 5.
Definitely a keeper, well done GEC & The Knife Connection, thanks!

WOW!!! What an absolutely stunning knife sir!:thumbsup: This one has to be the Poster Child for this run of 78’s! :D

redsparrow redsparrow , wow what a beauty and excellent photos my friend:thumbsup:

Here is my First #78 received in DI and have blue camel bone on way...not used to this high level of fit, finish, and 3 position snap of late. I love how breadth of the spear blade widens from base (dare I say 85-ish?)....all in all a home run by GEC/TKC!!

Great knive, guys! Just some drop dead gorgeous Desert Ironwood being shown today!
There seems to be universal agreement that the fit & finish, pull and walk & talk on this run have been spot on. I think in years to come, this 78 run will be seen as Classic GEC.
