#78 American Jack

My ebony two blade arrived today. So far I have two single blades, one in Elderberry and the other Smooth Bone. Will carry the two blade and then compare to the single blade versions. I REALLY like the singles so we'll see:thumbsup:

I don't know if I noticed that on my Golden Brown 2 bladed or not , so I just had to check it . It also has it . Does either of your single bladed ones have anything different on the blade ??? The 81 that I got last Fall has the CKC on the secondary blade . I have to argee with you and everyone else that these 78's are some pretty nice knives my friend . I Almost let them pass by until you guys started posting your early ones .

Harry, my single blades just have "CAR" behind "GEC"... I have two Gabon 2 blade Clip/Pen #78's from the first run that I picked up at this yrs rendezvous. Very nice sized pocket knives:thumbsup:

Looks like the peachseed's are about gone. Methinks they may sell out today. Better not wait if you want one.

Tomorrow for me. Looking forward to this one. As much as I love the beauty of wood covers, I think I prefer some texture in hand. That's part of the appeal of micarta for me as well.

Thanks Leslie Tomville Leslie Tomville . Did you pick one of these up?

I typically think longpulls look classy, but for some reason on this particular knife I’m really liking the regular nail nick. It just looks good on that spear blade to me based on all the pictures I’ve seen in this thread.

No mb, I am trying hard to resist. I already have an Ironwood with an Appaloosa coming, and I am anxious to see the Stag. Then it’s the Mudbug, 43 Beavertail, 56, .....! And then I expect a run of smaller knives, which I have very few of, as the year unfolds. I am hoping for a Coyote run and maybe the Tascosa.

But, that Peachseed you bought is a strong contender for one of the best of this run of 78’s. Congratulations!

It is certainly a challenge to keep this "thing"/hobby in check!

I have a weakness for ironwood. Those looked like really nice pieces.

Yes mb, I was not even considering the Ironwood until I could see how incredible the grain looked. When they hit the web, I was on the road and had a hard time getting in my order. The best ones disappeared like a vanishing act; two right out of my cart! With great difficulty, I was able to snag a pretty good one. Ironwood always looks nice, but this run was special.

With regard to keeping things in check, I am trying to go with keeping one knife per pattern only, but will probably end up with two or three of the 78's. For anyone interested, I was able to locate an incredible storage box at a very reasonable price from an art supply business. It works very well storing knives. When this box is full, I am considering going to a one in one out policy. Having written that, I must confess that I just ordered a second box!
