#78 American Jack

Still hunting down a Blue Bone but here my little group. Favorite is a toss up between the SMKW SFO and the Ebony... and the white bone... and the stag.

Well I let one of my Stags go and know I will probably regret it . They were both so nice !! Someone got a really nice Stag at a bargain price NIT .
Anyway after hours of trying to decide which one to keep Here’s some better pictures of the one Mercedes picked :)

Man, loving all the stag covers, guys!

(No)Thanks to our fine USPS, my stag single blade is floating around out there somewhere. Last sighted: Cincinnati sort hub. They better get it to my mailbox because something tells me it's not going to be easy to replace :/

I find it best to avoid looking at tracking information. I've too often seen my packages come right through my city only to pass through and end up another state away, only to sit for days, seemingly lost until one day to finally arrives.
Your frustration is completely understandable, as I'm incredibly impatient when I see my packaging sitting for too long in one location and/or making loops around the continental U.S.

Normally I wouldn't sweat a delayed or misdirected shipment but I know in this case if it goes permanently I'll only be getting a refund due to the scarcity of the stags. Thanks for the encouragement, though. It is just a knife, after all.

I think you be fine as they almost always End up finding there way home . At least they have for me with 100’s of shipping and receiving packages with USPS .
But with that being said I’ll cross my fingers for you :D

I traded into an SMKW SFO #78 and just got it unboxed. My first impression is very favorable. Love the size and blade. This was my favorite configuration from this run of #78's so glad I was able to land one.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that and it shows up in your mailbox soon, even with a refund I know how strong the disappointment can be. As TheFactor said, they usually show up eventually. They might float around in the ether for a period of time but they do usually make it.

After a brief mail delay, my Stag arrived today. It has some character. This is actually my first stag. Not sure if I’m into it or not to be honest. I don’t dislike it by any means, but I may be more of a wood guy.

Great fit and finish once again.

That's a great looking trio!

Fantastic picture, James! That Ironwood is truly something special. The stag isn't too shabby either. :D

If I had been buying knives this year, the ironwood 78 would have been my first pick.

Thanks guys!
With the Desert Ironwood you can't take a bad pic, with the stag it's tough to get a good one. (???o_O:D)
The stag is way nicer in person or when photographed solo than it appears here. It's finish is what customs strive for; centered blade, no gaps, spring flush in open and closed position, perfect transitions, razor sharp... absolutely no flaws!!!
IMO GEC has up their game with the 78s. To all who work there; Excellent job, Thanks!!!:thumbsup:
Can I just second what Dylan has said? Spot on!!
I will add that the Micarta is so cool! I'm so glad you were able to find one!
Thanks Mark! That micarta was a Christmas miracle (you know the story) one of these days I have to post.

I really like the look of your stag, very nice choice. I actually just got my backup stag in moments ago and like it a bit better than my first, so hopefully I will run into someone with an extra blue bone and a need for a good stag. I like it so far, but agree about the mixed feelings on the cover material. I'm not a micarta fan, feels to light I think, but love bone and wood. I have only one other stag knife, a burnt stag 99 wall street, it works well for that pattern, but the stag almost detracts from the slim form of the 78 single, one of my main attractions to this run. That being said I still really dig my stag 78 and yours is a real fine looker.
