#78 American Jack

This was a great run of knives. I almost passed it up at first thinking I wouldn't go for them. However, I bought one after seeing the pics of the elderberry bone posted - I really like the clawed bone look. Once I got it in person, I realized how good it was... and ended up with a few more.

I hope they do a single clip point run in the future!

Hopefully they will be back with new colours and covers in a short couple of years.

Did the deed today and cut an easy open notch in my cocobolo. Haven't taken a dremel to a hundred dollar knife so I was a bit cautious, so I might have to revisit it and enlarge it a little.

Looks to me like you did a very nice job on your EO notch! I think it fits this knife just about perfectly, thought I’m still a bit nervous to try it myself.

You're not helping me! But wait, I can explain. I got one for my complete set, one for my son's complete set, one for an EDC user and two that I can send out to be recovered (one for me and one for my son). That sounds sane....doesn't it? o_O:(

That’s, um… that’s perfectly normal. o_O :D

I started this post earlier today, with the comments above, and intended to take a few photos of my second #78 — a Tortoise Shell Acrylic Kifer SFO, serial no. 21 — to add to it, but I never got around to it, so I’ll go ahead and post my comments and (hopefully) add my own photos tomorrow.

Just got this guy, and it's a keeper. The covers are a bit splotchy with white areas, which may turn some people off, but I like irregularities in natural covers.

I'd really like to hunt down a natural micarta next!

Nice one. It exemplifies smooth.

I want to thank these three 78’s for giving me the will power to resist the 56’s. The 56 is a great pattern, but, in my opinion, just a tiny shade below the 78. The extra length and shape of the 78 provides a perfect platform to showcase the handle material. So, can I tell my wife that I saved us money by buying the 78’s?

Agree. Plus, I want half stops like those on the 78. So I have a jigged bone 2 blade 78 in my pocket right now.

Still, I had to snag 3 56s.

Thanks LT! You’ve made out pretty well yourself! I think being a two-Blade type of guy affords me a bit more time to be selective. The best single blade stag usually disappears before my spider sense even tingles.
Nature Boy Nature Boy Man you are killing it with your recent Stag knives! Everywhere I look I see another one. Congratulations.
