#81 Bull Moose Thread

I opened the box, ate a bowl of soup, and then fired up the 1x30. Glad I ended up ordering one of these. I love this 81 frame.

Looks great with the mod! I think the functionality of the knife goes way up with the sheepsfoot blade. Of course the damned USPS did not deliver mine today like the tracking estimated. Probably wont see it until monday because of the holiday

I actually received two packages early today from USPS that were supposed to be delivered Friday, much to my delight. Wasn't the ebony moose, but one was the #66 bullwinkle moose in stag that is making a fast collection of moose.

Thank you for the kind offer! I very well might take you up on that if I can manage to scoop up one of these 81s. Holiday and end-of-year bonuses are right around the corner, which means I might be able to swing an extra knife or 3 outside of the normal blade budget.

I agree that a clip point main and sheepfoot (or wharncliffe) secondary is a great blade combination, but I still appreciate the moose pattern (even if I don't end up picking one up). I hope they do another run on the #82 frame either as another stockman or with a clip main and wharncliffe secondary (same blade shapes as on the #82 Dixie Stock Knife, those were perfect).
 
Man thats a looker! I wish mine would have showed up when it was supposed to!

I wish theyde make a Northfield version with a black linen micarta or a maroon linen micarta. Actually the Muslin micarta that Derek from KSF uses would look really cool

It was delivered today. Heres a few pics. My first impression is that someone took my mod81 and dressed it up in a tux for a special occasion. The pulls are ever so slightly snappier on the northfield. The ebony is very dark. Looks great. Everything else on it is jst about perfect except that it has a spear point. I will be modding this one. The final pic is of my planned modification.
