this one came. 15864847050923920640959022150559.jpg

stamping of model number not so good on mine. kinda unique.

sheath is bulky and not something I need, gonna have to get Mak to make me a leather one. it's well made though and for someone who is gonna do ground combat...... guess it makes sense......

so I figure most of the classic collectors, this ain't gonna excite them much or at all. I like old and new......so I'm digging on it. 5160 cerakoted. so tough, but has a decent grind to thin it enough without being too thin or for that matter to thick.

I prefered this drop point to the tanto version.

whats y'alls thought on these new models?

Spear point and tanto in 2 color options

Ok all I could find was a spear and tanto, next question was going to be where did you get it. You had me wanting a drop point and I still do Lol

When they do a saber grind I'll look closer. I think its a great option.

I know a lot of people think everything needs to be a super steel, but J commend Buck on going carbon on these. If you have ever used a knife in the field you can appreciate the ease of sharpening carbon steel's offer while still being very durable for every task you can imagine. ESSE is a good example, and Becker.

I think the sheath is over the top for a lot of people, but lets be real, look at the knife, its a combat knife first and foremost. It will work great for that. Kydex benders are all over the place these days, and lots of leather benders as well. I know people don't like paying extra a lot of times but with the pricepoint of this knife and wanting to make it fit what you want it too, for you, I don't think it's a great sheath. They could have just cheaper out and made a junk sheath like several makers do, but they didn't.
That said if it were mine I'd get some kydex bent.

I'd love to see a 4" saber grind. I wouldn't mind seeing a full flat grind either myself. I know a general outdoor knife isn't what this was intended to be first and foremost, but with a little modification they could add to the lineup eventually.

I love the color and the handle shape and materials. The price is good.

Thank you for the pictures and sharing. Could you post a couple of detail pictures of the handle. I can't fully make out the contours of the handle in the middle. Looks like there is some swell to the middle, Top portion ?

Thank you once again.

Nice grab JB.
I shy away from the military style knives but I like the way that looks. The colors are great. The layers on the handle look good also.
I don't think much of those style sheaths, but I am warming up to them. A bit.
It would be nice to see what MAK would come up with for that. His leather sheaths are awesome.

D dpsk ....
the ridges/levels could be hot spots if used a lot of harder use. the texturing around the trigger finger cutout is a bit of a hot spot. I havent cut with yet, just held and rubbed hand around in a hammer grip to get a feel for it. plenty of grip though. I expect the squared edges will round out from wear over time. nothing that bothers me, but for someone with sensitive hands......they may dislike after using for awhile i expect, is possible.

yeah I have no use for a military stabber or combat user or whatnot. I like this design though just cause. it appeals to me.

the factory one isnt bad, just kinda big and clunky...takes up a lot of belt space. it does hang nicely and makes access easy and useful.

yep, I'm with ya on Mak.

Thank you very much for the great detailed pictures of the handle. I look forward to hearing your opinion on how the handle feels after some use.

Thanks for posting the photos. I really like this. It kind of reminds me of the Camillus Cuda fixed blade from many years ago. I'm going to have to get one of these eventually, right after I get a 117 from Copper and Clad, and a Frontier from Silver Knight Blades, and one of the new Nighthawks, and...…..Well, you get the idea.
