If it hasn't already been mentioned OP should check out the clinch pick.

The design is for a last ditch effort to save yourself when bound up in a grapple.

pretty sure I'm the op...whatcha talkin about? a fighting knife that aint a Buck?

I believe the reason they are calling it a spear point is that it's double edged, whereas a drop point isn't.....
No the double edge doesn't make it a spear point, a spear point refers to the profile of the knife, when the spine has a similar/same profile as the edge, as this knife does. So that is what makes it a spear point.

I was meaning the very first 1" of the tip is considered a spear point shape, I think that's where Buck get's the term from....Buck calls it a spear point, not me...I was trying to figure out how they came up with that term....

I never could get this sheath attached like I wanted after trying several different and brand clips even bought some and they didn’t work . So I tried making my own with some plexiglass and it turned out pretty good . Plus here’s another tip picture camera still don’t want to focus on it AED70993-F2FB-42DD-A44F-51E6ED4B8C20.jpeg 5130A2AF-5359-4AAE-AA52-BF0F12051668.jpeg 2B629701-DAF7-42BB-80B1-D8D7040C2880.jpeg 5F5B7695-0DF5-4BA9-B594-D4B288F96209.jpeg

It's been awhile since I bought any Buck knives.
I own several older models, some were sharper out the box than others..
I always prefer at least a decent factory edge to start with even if I tune them up some afterwards.
I'm leaning hard towards the 893 Tanto.

That grey spear point is looking very interesting. I’ve been favoring the more long and slender blade style lately, and this fits that very well. The sheath is the only problem, way oversize imo. That seems to be the trend these days and I just don’t get it. Bigger, heavier, bulkier seems to me the exact opposite of what a soldier in the field would want? Look at the old WWII Nord sheaths, that’s what I think the direction should be. YMMV. Nice knife though, thanks for all the pictures.

Question to those who have purchased any of the new Buck Ground Combat Knives. Does the knife snap into the kydex sheath?
I received a couple of the GCK knives today and the knives themselves are fantastic but the knife doesn't really snap into the sheath. The knife just kind of sits in it and falls out easily. I have tightened the top screws and it just doesn't seem like the knife fits into the sheath properly. Comes out very easy and doesn't snap in at all..

yes snaps in and snaps out. should be decent resistance until it snaps in or out. sure ya got it in there far enough? either way it shouldn't fall out.

To me, the sheath seems to be an afterthought. The Kydex sheath fits good and the knife does snap in place. The other part of the sheath looks to be something that was laying around and they didn't know what else to do with it, IMO....

Well my 2 the knives definitely don't snap into the sheaths and I am getting them in all the way. It hardly takes any effort at all
to pull the knives out. I will have to call Buck tomorrow and see what they say.
