Charles, fantastic job. I know I'm supossed to be on vacation but we had problems with the car, and did't make it out of PA, but we'll be leaving by the morrow in the early AM.

I'll post when I get back.

Ok knife came today, handles look great! very nice job Charles, you can't even feel where the wood meets metal they are so perfectly fitted, and the wood is gorgeous great choice Ed T. The plaque is about done, just waiting on some brass work to be finished hopefully Monday so I can get it on the plaque, then will shoot some nice pics of it and the knife and get them posted up here, plaque should be on way by tues. at the latest.

Also there was one member that sent a donation in, I want to thank you I left the money at New Graham to help cover shipping cost. I also left the letter with your name, But will thank you more formally tomorrow, but didnt want you to think the donation was forgotten, thank you.

BTW: The plaque is made from African Mahogany and was donated by my father-in-law.

Also wanted to make sure and add thanks to CVETTERER1 for sending money to the store, it will go onto the shipping cost, thanks from everyone.

I spoke with Mary over the weekend she'll be attending Memorial services With the wives of the fallen Port Authority PD Officers.

I will be giving her the plaque this weekend she has been extreemly busy with the anniversary of 9-11 coming up and she said she's looking forward to seeing me.

Thank you everyone involved, and may God look down upon you and your familys and see the perfection of his creations.:)

Y'all did good. I haven't been here long, so missed out on this. But definitely make me proud to be a member of the knife community.

Sorry it took so long to get this knife to Jim's Fiance and her son, just never seemed to be in the same place at the same time.

I saw her and Bobby yesterday at her brothers and presented her with the knife and plaque, she had tears in her eyes as she accepted it and was going to mount it on the wall with Jims Picture, hat and shield.

She was amazed at the generosity, and compassion of complete strangers,(I know you are not all completely strange:) ).

Guys involved, if you could email me your Address, Mary would like to thank everyone in an individual letter and give you something to remember Jim.

Here is a picture of Mary, Bobby The knife and me.

Thanks guys for all you did you made her very happy.

Well folks I brought this thread back to the top for a little closure.

Mary the Fiance of Jim Romito, passed away last night at 8:00pm eastern time.

She never really recovered from the loss of Jim, and that coupled with a body riddled with cancer finally took it's toll.

Her family was around her when she passed onto the other side, she lapsed into a coma tuesday morning and never regained consciousness.

I've known Mary and her family since I was 7 years old(I'm 45 now), I was her brothers best friend, and best man at his wedding(his wife passed away last year from a blood clot(possibly from surgery complications).

Mary became involved in many charities after Jim's death on September 11th, she was helping the homeless, orphans, and the surviving families of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11th, she was a kind hearted woman who would take in families and find work for them wheter it was out in the work world or she would pay them to help her with her charity work and around the house.

It's so sad when something like this happens, people say things like it's Gods will, at least she's not suffering anymore, or even she's with her parents and Jim now.

You know what it doesn't make it any easier for her son, family and friends left behind.

I was designated disseminator of information so I thought after the long night of making call all across the country I wanted to let you folks know the final chapter, especially those of you who donated time and materials, and even support by way of posts or money for the knife and plaque that were made in memory of Jim.

I'm very tired and don't know what else to say except thanks to all of you kind people on the forums who took the time to read my ramblings and in the course of your day maybe you can say a prayer for Mary, her son Bobby, and the rest of her family and friends, they can use all the help they can get to see them through the upcomming days, and weeks ahead of them.

T, thanks for the update. I am sorry to hear of her death and my sympathy goes out to her family and friends, especially you, as it is obvious you are a good friend to the family.
Regards, Mike
