940-1501 Knifeworks Exclusive

The blue on my is more subdued than the one pictured on KW, though that one is pictured outside in the sunlight so that probably helps bring out the blue.

well those are so blurry they make my head hurt, but I guess it's better than nothing :D hope that helps, I'll try taking some better pictures after messing with my phone camera settings, I think the focus was on the background.

So, what's the feeling on this as an EDC? Since the it's been out for a bit, I figured people have put it thru its paces or does everyone have theirs locked up in a safe?

IMO this thing carries no differently than a 940-1. Lighter than the traditional 940 it is a perfect EDC.

Thinking about grabbing one of these. The g10 will look the same years later unlike the aluminum handles. The 940-1 I am not a big fan of due to the blade steel. I cant seem to decide what to get engraved on it.

I need to pick up one of these 940-1501 in 20CV & G-10 before they're all gone. Big fan of the 940 series.

Anyone had any issues with these like blade play and anything else?

I will say that my 940-1501 is the best 940 specimen I have ever handled/owned. The quality is off the charts on these.

I've owned a 940-1501 for about a month now. My example is perfectly centered with an even grind and a sweet action. It's the only knife I've carried since getting it. I keep trying to switch to one of my old favorites, but I miss this 940 too much. I think the ultra light weight (2.6oz) and the slim feel in the pocket are the main factors for me. I continue to be surprised at how good a slicer the chunky little blade is. My only complaint is that the grips are ever so slightly too close to the thumb studs, and this makes it just a bit hard to open. I think the layered G10 forced them to make the grips thicker and less scalloped than other 940 variants. I tried a 940-1 in the store the other day and it was much easier on the thumb. That knife is quite a bit more money, though and I prefer 20CV to S90V. I plan to ask BM Customer Service if they'll send me the larger studs from a large Griptilian, which was suggested as a fix for this, just have not gotten around to it yet.

They will send you the larger studs. That's what I put on my 940-1s and 940-1501s.

I think it is worth it. Compared to the 940-1, it's around $60 less and you get IMO a bit nicer steel with only a slight increase in weight. 940-1 is a beautiful knife also, though.

Have one for quite some time and it is definitely worth every penny!
