That Cocobolo sure is beautiful !
I'm wondering if it's excess glue behind the shield even though I think there pinned also . Glue might clean up if your careful . I wouldn't think it would be a filler since it appears to be white and not something to match the covers . I'd be willing to bet its glue . Can you feel a gap with your nail in that area ?

That what would probably be your best bet or you could send it back to the dealer to swap it out if you bought it new . Don't be bummed it's a easy fix either way .

Seriously though I think you'd really like the Clip . I'm not sure if it's were the nail nick is or shape of the blade but it makes for a very nice pull .

The nice pull is due to the shape of the halfstop. Look at the top on the close position and you can see the cut. It's more angled for the first pull to the halfstop, making it easier to open. Then it takes some authority to snap it all the way. Great design.

Hah! I know and was just griping which is another one of my hobbies.

The pull on the drop from DLT is very good, but the blade is deep in the frame.

The clip is the thing making me want another.
