A big camp chopper and a Persian (final knife pictures)

Xander... those swashbuckling profiles don't seem to be for everybody. Although... it might be the picture that is throwing it off. The spine is far from straight in real life. I will try to take a picture straight down on it...

Scott, it must be the picture (also viewing this on my phone isn't ideal). I am a fan of fighters of all types and finishes, I just finished a brut de forge knife yesterday, id be interested in seeing a more straight on shot of the profile, sounds like it will be just about right to me if I am thinking on the same wavelength as you (doubtful that I am, but possible! :D).

Either way, you do most excellent work

Xander.. things ran late today and I never got to taking that photo.. but I will I promise.

But here is the Persian after putting on the handle... I haven't taken formal photos yet as there are all sorts of little cosmetics that need addressed. But these will show you how it will look in general...

Scott,

That one looks alive, with a storied past. Everything works on it, and seems to tell a story.

Great job.

John

Thanks John.... It ended up being kind of a puzzle to put together...

I really love holding this thing. I put it in the hand of a visitor to my shop today and their face lit up.. probably in surprise. I just feels.... effective.

By the way.... it also needs a pin.

That Persian just may be my favorite of all time. Wow.

Thanks a lot Mack!

The hands clean up a bit and they look their worst on glue up days! but 7 years of Joshua Tree rock climbing, 3 years tuna fishing and running dive boats .. and now knife making.. have taken the toll.

I did get the opportunity to handle both of these today when Scott came for his "knife talk visit".
Both are very nice.
Joe, the Persian is quite comfortable. Even while actually holding the knife, it seemed as if I was holding something OTHER than the knife I was looking at!
At first it appears to be, I don't know how to say it, maybe a little unwieldy.
Yet, it remains quite friendly in the hand.
I wiped the slobber off. ;)
You're going to enjoy it, Joe.
As I'm sure the customer for the other knife will enjoy his, as well.

Joe, you didn't snag yourself an 'Art Knife' did you? ;)

you of all people should be able to finagle an invite to AKI in 2013...just sayin...
