Thanks Karl! For mentioning my work here but also sharing your knowledge with me this weekend. I had a great time.... and like the last time I visited you I'm now going to start moving to the next level in my knife making.

As to leather work... I got started today. I haven't yet gotten to the suspension yet.. and I have a couple of ideas. But let this picture suffice for now...

Both of these knives are sizzlin' hot. They also look like they will perform their intended tasks!

The Persian is super...congrats on landing it, Joe. Scott, that chopper is outta this world. Really love it.

Can't wait to see these things in leather.

Thanks a lot ...

Well the leather for this has been a challenge. The center seam in the above picture won't work. We are going for a horizontal cross-draw and I just couldn't come up with a horizontal suspension that looked good AND did the job. So I abandoned it ..but will send it along to Joe as an optional storage scabbard. I then started another... a pouch style sheath... but screwed up the tooling. Which was a good thing since I just wasn't happy with that either. It was missing something. So I'm now working on a blade sheath that I think will work.

Anyway.... here are pictures of the knife in it's finished state:

Well tomorrow I will (hopefully) finish the sheath and get this out to you Joe!

Scott,

This one works on so many levels, materials, textures, colors, as a knife, and as a sheer visual image.

What a job you've done here!

John

I am blown away by this piece

I can't remember seeing anything like it

I am very pleased and excited

Thank you Scott

just one last picture of the sheath work. I don't have another picture of what is now the 'storage scabbard'... but you get the idea from the previous picture. So this sheath is a simple, strong, effective cross draw.. the art will be left to the storage scabbard.

Anyway... I hope to get it all in the mail on monday (with a little 'extra' in the box) :-)

Thanks for participating in what turned out to be an unexpectedly fun project!

The pleasure was mine as well. I wish we could do it more often. I do enjoy sharing, at least with those that appreciate the time it takes to learn something worthwhile.
Joe got himself a heck of a one-of-a-kind knife, here, and I'm glad you brought it by. I hope he takes it around with him from time to time to show off your craftsmanship.
This knife truly is unique!
