To respond to the initial poster...

I believe a large amount of the pictures you will see are from when a person first has a knife that is new. I know most of mine are.

Along with a couple other people that have posted in this thread, you could easily call me a certified Barkiholic. My interest in BRKT is based upon how well the knives perform, how Mike take care of customers, and how pretty the knives are.

I have and will continue to use my Barkies as hard as I please, and I have no problem doing so. I have a picture or two that might show that... :D

Here I am in the process of testing my Bravo-1 when they first came out. I used it to take apart a 5" diameter tree. This was when I batoned it into the tree point first, and split the tree apart:

Cross grained batoning to break off the last of the tree after I split it:

My Golok (on the bottom). It has a lot more ugliness to it now than it did in this picture:

Bottom line with Bark River knives is that they work. I have a bunch that get used on a regular basis which do not show a large amount of wear and tear, because the satin finish holds up very well.
Try one out if you haven't. :)

Just a FYI you can buy a Boney AD directly from the Busse store for $227. If you are thinking of buying one in the near future now is the time to act IMO.

After reading all of these posts I need to try a Bark River. I really like the designs and they seem to be very good quality.

I have owned well over 50 Busse s since Jul 07.
They are by far the toughest knives I had used in my life.

INFI seems to be better suited for larger sized blades.
I prefer a harder steel for edc s and slicers.
Here is a video of me getting $600 knife stoned :D

Its a Busse Fusion Steel Heart. (factory edge)

I eventually chopped the brick in half.
There was only very minor blunting on the edge.
I steeled it out to hair splitting sharp in a matter of minutes...

God I love the FSH line.

Not any more. The time to act was probably 3 seconds after your post.

On a positive note the Barkie crowd have proved to me that their Barkies are more than able to rise to any tasks, thanks for the great pics guys( keep em coming ).
On a negative note it looks like I may have to add yet another brand of knives to my collection in the future, I have been looking on Knives ship free and DLT trading already !!!!! Damn you lot !!!!!!!
I have to echo what Doc said earlier about the people on this forum, a while back someone was going to send me a $400 ish Busse to borrow because he said he knew I was one of the good guys ! He doesn't know me from Adam other than by my posts ! Of course he is right though I'm a really good guy !!!!! LOL !!!!! I didn't take him up on the offer but it made me realise what a good bunch we have on here !
I have noticed that there have still not been too many Fallkniven pics, mind you they are only Stainless so I'd baby them a little if I had one !!!!
One last thing I do agree on is the comment about the talon holes on Busse's.....I know it's their trademark but c'mon, I think they should lose the talon holes and stick with INFI being their trademark !!!

Here's my most used Fallkniven,my S1.I've had it for over 2 years and I think it has character now.

Hey I'm only messin bro, but you have been around here long enough to know that right !;)
I'm quite sure the Fallknivens are great blades and are as tough as anyone would ever need them to be !!!!

Busse Pumpkin Warden..
Had the edge convexed. Made a very scary slicer for something .22" thick
The factory edge could not cut worth a damn.

G'day pitdog

I have only just registered on Bladeforums, principally because I was interested in reading this topic.

By way of introduction, a little about myself first. I enjoy hunting and fishing and the associated camping that goes with pursuing these hobbies in genuine wilderness areas here in Australia.

Whilst I am way too unfamiliar with this forum to suggest any reasons why there may be a lack of Fallkniven in-use pictures posted here, out of curosity have you looked in at the Fallkniven forum over at KF?

If your interested in seeing some pics of Fallknivens in use why not have a look at :

Fallkniven users http://www.knifeforums.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/821524/

Hunting + Fishing with Fallkniven http://www.knifeforums.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/821530/

and follow the links provided to previous posts within these topics.

Whether or not they will constitute hard use or not is going to depend on your own personal point of view. They will however give you a good idea of both the environments I use my Fallknivens in and the use I put them too.

Kind regards
Mick

Hey Mick, good to see you over on this forum, I always enjoy your posts.

Pitdog, glad to see you're getting interested in the Barkies and hopefully the Fallknivens as well. All good stuff and worthy of their reputations. I enjoy both, as well as a few Randalls...in "real" use they all compare very well. I don't consider chopping cinder blocks, bricks, copper wires or quarters a "real" use or an indication of anything related to knife craft but more an affect of marketing hype. I remember as a kid thinking Buck knives could really cut through bolts without risk.

Relative to the question about showing the blade scars as proof of actually using the knives...how about those folks who enjoy using their knives but also like to clean them up and keep them looking as good as they can. I suspect there will be those who say "why bother", but for others, tinkering and cleaning is just part of enjoying the hobby. I admit, I'm guilty of the tinkering syndrome, so my users sort of look like blemished safe queens :-)
