I only have a few hard and fast rules of thumb.

Never will I ever buy a balisong, because they are super dumb in my opinion.
Never will I ever buy a half serrated tanto bladed folding knife
Never (again) will I ever buy an Emerson knife
Never will I ever buy a MickBurgerBag knife

I'd buy balisongs if they were legal where I live. Same with autos.

I unfortunately tried to juggle both and got a bit over zealous in my light purchases and looking back, took a beating on some lights for sure.
