A Giveaway - Now with a Winner!

Thanks for the opportunity. I'm pretty new here, but have found this to be a terrific and informative community. But what stands out the most are the little (and big) moments of generosity and deep personal affection you all have for each other. I think it's great--I'm too new to be involved in all that, but it makes me happy that there are places like this for people like you :p

Cheers,
Daniel

I'm in and Thank You !

I too had never heard of GEC until I first visited this forum a very few months ago. Now they make up the bulk of my collection, although I do not have a "Bah-loe".

NOT an entry

having just won Elliott's turkey day giveaway i just wouldnt feel right about entering another giveaway so soon
however, like many others i just wanted to express how cool this place is. I am very proud and glad to be a part of this community.

congrats to the winner (whoever they end up being)
and congrats to Sarah for hosting such a great giveaway!

Ryan

P, it’s always an absolute pleasure to exchange banter with you, to read your posts, and to look at the great pics you put up. That is an absolutely swooney knife! Like you, I’d never heard of GEC before I started contributing to this forum, but they seem to be the absolute ‘bee’s knees’! :) Took this pic for you the other day, quality wasn’t so good, so I didn’t post it, but what the heck...Thanks for the very generous giveaway, a fantastic knife to be treasured forever, but more importantly thanks for being here, and for helping make this forum the place that it is :)

Jack

Gosh. I'd have to truly echo every single reason you enjoy this forum. And I can't help but smile knowing I'm not the only one who sees a pic here and thinks, "Well, I think I need one of those!"
Not an entry, just wanted to say thanks, for the wonderful giveaway and the honorable mention. :)

I'm new around here after lurking for a long while, and it's the generosity in time and info that pushed me into signing up.
The thing that has kept me looking around so much is the knowledge that I'm not the only person out there who has a handful of "modern" knives that spend a lot of time in the drawer. More often than not, lately I find my flashy assisted-opener left behind in favor of something a little more like this:

If this counts, may I (humbly) toss my hat into the ring. Thank you!

This also is not an entry, as I am trying to sell knives, not accumulate more.

However, I did not want to pass by this opportunity to say how much I enjoy your participation in this wonderful place. Your sense of humor is a great addition to the interactions that take place here (I will always remember your chiding of me about my blue bird house!).

I have learned so much since coming here in January, picked up more knives than one person ought to own, and developed some friendships with people I have never met! As others have said, the generosity of everyone involved is remarkable.

Let me take this opportunity to also express my appreciation to Frank and Gary for all they do to maintain the spirit of this place. You are fine gentlemen, whose work behind the scenes makes this all possible. Thank you!

Great giveaway, Pertinux!

Not an entry as I have a couple of new #25's, but I strongly encourage others to participate! The #25 is a superb little folder...

Merry Christmas to all! (...and thanks again, P!)

Thanks for the opportunity. I love gec and I love ebony so count me in.

Now what I love about this forum is all the great people that hang out here an the stories that they share. Often when I come to this forum I get reminded of the important things in life and often puts me in a good mood after a long hard day. This is a welcoming and enjoyable place to visit :)

Good on you ~P! This is not an entry as I purchased my green bone GEC #25 Barlow after seeing yours. Instead it is a thank you for being such a good contributor to this awesome forum community. I'd also like to say "good luck" to those who want to win, the #25 is a great knife, especially for a watch pocket!

Cheers,
Griff

I'm in! This forum introduced me to traditionals, and I am grateful for that and now carry a case peanut. Great looking knife up for grabs.

Please count me in .. I'm one of those who do not post regularly but do visit here more than once a day.

I've just learned something from A Brief Study on Swedges. Great stuff (should sticky this thread)!

Thanks for your generosity!

Wow, very nice giveaway P! Definitely consider me in, and now for an example of why I love this forum...

Yesterday was my b-day, yep 12-12-12. A date unannounced to anyone other than my immediate family and a day that was completely stressing my fiance because she had no idea what to do for me. Early in the evening a certain regular contributor sent me a very nice email, purely out of the goodness of their heart, due to some posts I submitted on a recent thread (I think). The email was a friendly heads up to me and ended up serving as a perfect "how to" for my fiance to find the perfect birthday gift. So, due to this simple act of kindness my fiance's problem was solved and my b-day was made all the more amazing!

The everyday acts of giving, kindness, and generosity in this forum are truly inspiring and are just some of the many aspects of the traditionals area that will always keep me coming back for more.

Thanks again for you help yesterday Pertinux!

Not an entry as I have been the recipient of much more generosity here than I deserve. I just want to say thank you for all you bring to our little family here.

It's a lot of fun and quite easy to get caught up with the latest and greatest and all the great discussion and wealth of knowledge this site has to offer. I've gotten quite an education exploring the various forums here but but when I get up in the morning, look at the knife shelf, and think about what I actually need and use on a daily basis, it's pretty simple - I grab my Buck Cadet and end up back on the traditional forum to confirm that just like the reliability and utility of the traditional patterns, this subforum is the ol' reliable mainstay of this site. I may not post much around here but this is like my hometown. I can always come back here and appreciate how I got to where I am today.

Thanks for the generous giveaway. Please count me in.

Not an entry (I've got that one already). But thanks to you Pertinux and everyone whose contributions makes this such a great place to spend some time.

I'm in! Great giveaway. The 25 is a perfect coin pocket knife.

I love the ebony!

For those who don't know, the all steel construction is cool!
