A few years back, I bought my at the time benjamin sheridan .177. It's the old time 10 pump. I didn't want a 7 YO sling .22 caliber lead.
I put a Williams peep site on it.
I put the Williams peep sight on my Benjamin as well. It's definitely nicer than the stock sights although I am pretty accurate with both.
One way to test the maximum number of pumps it should hold is to see if there's still any air after you shoot by cocking again and pulling the trigger. If you hear or feel (make sure you don't load a pellet

Mine will take about 10 pumps because I've made the chamber larger and put a different spring in the valve. Usually 6-8 pumps is plenty though.
