KAI is going to supply Japanese Special Forces with ZT-Emerson Collaboration knives. Thats pretty cool!
Nice videos Stu. Thanks for posting these.

Not feelin' any of those steel frames, "fo G-10" or whatever 8cr13mov is, but I'm sure there is a market for all of it.

Not very historic to me, still see no ZT offerings I'd buy, and Japan has a special forces?

I know some might like what ZT/Kershaw is putting out recently but I gotta say they just are not for me. I'm sure others are will be very pleased. For all the junk I have talked about BM and the MAP fiasco they will be getting more of my money with what they are doing. Also Spyderco.

And I don't really see what KAI supplying Japanese special forces has to do with me as a knife user here in the states.

Great videos... Really happy for "Jack" for being able to see his dream become a reality for ZT. (It's perfectly okay to be happy for someone else's success)... That's awesome!

As for the new Kershaw lineup, I have mixed emotions. Upset that they were all Chinese made collabs, but some were intriguing. Probably not going to pick any up, considering where I am currently at in my collection quantity (maybe a ZT this year though?). I do like the simplicity of the designs, nothing too flashy or over the top, just basic functionality. I had to laugh at the "grinder", he commented on the design being great for cutting cardboard, (and I can't argue that point), but yet its the one blade that was 4cr14 Steel, which won't hold an edge cutting yhrough mayonnaise? What were they thinking on that one?

All in all though, I'd say they'd get a B. Nothing " knocked out the park", but aside from the Grinder in 4cr steel, they didn't really drop the ball anywhere else either. Most likely some of the best bunch of Chinese made 8cr13mov blades out there, as Kershaw usually is.

And fwiw, it's "feux" g10, not "fo' g10"... Just a fancy word for imitation, like feux fur coats, or feux wood grain.

To my understanding Japan has a very limited military force in general after they done lost their minds and tried to take over the world in wwII, (and bombed us fir no damn reason), but their limited military is as per their surrender terms set by the US, however they do still have a national defense force, and a special forces "elite" unit, otherwise the brunt of their military might is through a strong allied relationship with the good ol' U.S. of A., who keeps a chunk our own military presence well established within their borders and waters, (with Pacific reinforcements not far away). Mess with Japan, you mess with us type of deal.

It was a joke, I know they have a special forces, just laughing about it though.

I will say that the Hiroshi Igarashi seems very passionate about knives and Im glad he fufilled his dream. Im not gonna knock Japans military prowess they have a long history of being a military to reckon with before Ww2.
