A HISTORICAL announcement for KAI at SHOT Show 2016 and an entire NEW line of knives.

Jack seems thrilled so that's nice to see; I'm sure the new line will be successful. I might pick one up when they're available. I am not a KAI expert by any means but the four models I have I do like very much. (0560blk, a leek, a blur, and the ever classic 0550).

Nice to see some new stuff from a good and reliable manufacturer

I'm thinking it would be equal to our mall security forces here in the US.

all joking aside Ill leave you with this:

"Potential recruits to the SFGp are drawn from Ranger-qualified personnel from the 1st Airborne Brigade. As such, all SFGp soldiers are Airborne-qualified.[5]

For specialized training, the 1st Platoon have their freefall training under the 1st Airborne Brigade with the 2nd Platoon under the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.[5]"

they are well qualified and train with US personnel. unless your mall security is Ranger and Airbrone qualified I don't think it even close

I'd also have to echo, Japan has real deal special forces. I was friends with one, and you have to remember, the Japanese are hated by everyone in Asia. They are surrounded by larger countries that would love to do them harm, including China flexing their military muscles.

I would suggest they have done classified work in enemy territory.

Most, if not all, of their concern is North Korea.

In a documentary I saw a few years ago, the JSOG (Japanese Special Operations Group, I think?) are called "Japan's Delta Force" - and were actually trained by our own U.S. Army Delta Force. JSOG easily the equal to - and most likely superior - to any elite forces fielded by any country in the Pac-Rim. Interestingly enough, they are not allowed (by law) to reveal their identities, unless authorized by a superior officer. (The documentary talked about them for all of maybe a minute or two.)

That would be one hell of a safe mall to shop in, I would think.

I literally did not see a single kershaw that caught my eye, many of them looked cheap and mall-ninjaish. It seems like they're turning into a Gerber 2.0

Not feelin' any of those steel frames, "fo G-10" or whatever 8cr13mov is, but I'm sure there is a market for all of it.

Mmmmm, inexpensive materials...

;):rolleyes::foot::thumbdn:

I stopped the vid at the pry bar knife thinger LOL. I wonder if the Emerson collab knife (looks sweet but...) will be as bad as the previous kershaw/emersons.

So many of them I checked out had quality issues and way too thick grinds and edges for their size IMHO. :thumbdn::thumbdn::thumbdn::(

Why is this historical?

I'm curious about this too. Is it because ZT will be providing Japan's SFG with knives? I mean, that's great and all but I don't know what that really means for us, the consumer. I'm probably missing something.

It means that you too will be able to own this "Special Forces" worthy knife.

That's all it means.

Gee whizzzz.... I thought I had that base covered with a SOG. :D

That's OK...you're probably not high speed awesome enough to handle the ZT anyway.

(That marketing tactic always works too. Why these knife companies don't hire me to do their marketing escapes me.)
